The Israeli Center for Inventors aimed to provide fledgling inventors with step-by-step assistance on the way to realizing their ideas, but according to police suspicions, Schneider pocketed the fees paid to the center and failed to deliver the goods.

Dozens of complaints were filed with the Tel Aviv Police Fraud Division against the center recently, according to the which the Bnei Brak resident and father of eight, promised budding inventors their products would be produced in China – a pledge for which they paid him tens of thousands of shekels.

As time went by and no products were supplied, the inventors began questioning Schneider, who allegedly provided them with fictitious invoices indicating the manufacturing process was underway.

The police allege that Schneider defrauded both his clients and his business partner to the amount of millions.

Today police officers raided Schneider’s office, arrested him and confiscated computers and various files.

Schneider will be arraigned later Tuesday and the police are expected to ask the court to allow him restricted bail.

This is a clear case of entrapment, right? I know the comments to follow will either praise this man, claim he should not be punished or claim it is the worst crime in the world b/c it was only against another Jew. I am eagerly awaiting the defense on this one……

Yom ha’din came a few days late for the many people he defruauded. This just goes to show again that their is naive trust within the orthodox community that anyone who wears a shtreimel and bekeshe, or who has a big family and shuttles a lot during davening must be a tzadik with good midos and yiras shamayim who can be trusted. Obviously, we have learned the past few years, this is not true and to some degree, we need to give special dilligence to those within the frumme community who prey on their neighbors and chevrah. Unfortunately, he may be given bail before he goes to jail so hopefully steps will be taken to prevent him from stealing more while awaiting trial.

Always wonder if these guys can really be frum and do this sort of thing or is their whole life an assortment of rationalizations and pretending to be someone they are not.

Sounds like a familiar story now. When will people learn: A) to really be ehlicha yidden & B) to stop trusting others who pretend to be.

Please dan l’kav schus, he is our brother. Innocent until proven guilty.

Suspicion is not a conviction nor a proof of guilt.

Another Frum Tzadik in white collar financial scam; tell me what else is new? I bet he stole money from Israelis and gave 10% tzedoka to his people which made him “well renowned in his community.” The people that actually used his company are to blame as well. Who would believe a Haredi operating an “invention business,” it’s like investing money with an Arab who rides a camel and says he runs a scientific research company that will develop a cure for diabetes.

“a renowned figure in the ultra-Orthodox community”
I live in the “Ultra Orthodox” community and never heard of the guy, google his name and you’ll only find it in reference to this, so next time someone not frum commits a crime I want the headline to read “renowned secularist accused of….”.

In addition the guy looks like he may be a BT, not that C”V I have anything against that but if the story is true you can’t blame the frum chinuch for his actions.

    a pattern. .

why is it, that when one Chareidi is accused, or found guilty of any wrong doing, that people start bashing the Chareidi education, and so forth. .
so what do they do when a secular guy is caught doing something similar or even worse? there its simple, one wrong doing, doesnt make every one wrong. .
there always was, and sadly will be, bad people, no matter what you do. thankfully, its not remotely as many, as there are in other communitys, we still are the best!
