Canada - Mumps Outbreak In Montreal

Canada - VIN News has confirmed that Health officials in Montreal say a mumps outbreak in Montreal is possibility linked to a recent outbreak in Brooklyn, N.Y.

About 8 people in Montreal, who range in age from 6 to 51 years old, have come down with the disease in the last one week.

A spokesperson for Refuah V'chesed a Montreal Jewish volunteer organization helping the sick, told VIN News the cases have been primarily contained to one section of the community, where it appears one child was infected and may have come into contact with others.

This comes on the heels of yesterdays news from NYC and NJ health officials, saying that Mumps outbreak has been confirmed in both locations in teh Jewish community.
