Jerusalem - Controversial figure Yolish Krauss was arrested today by the police after he allegedly assaulted a haredi woman in the ultra-orthodox Jerusalem neighborhood of Mea She’arim.

Krauss admitted involvement in the incident. He had allegedly sprayed the woman with pepper spray. She did not need medical treatment.

According to Israeli media  the incident occurred this past Succos during simchas beis hashoeva, and is not related to an attack today in Meha She’arim.

Krauss is a controversial figure in Jerusalem who is said to be be behind many of the recent violent protests

Even if he sits in jail a little it's not such a big deal. He's got nothing better to do anyway, and the attention he's getting is well worth it.

Basically, he is no better than a suicide bomber, except that he likes to stay alive after his attacks in order to relish in the attention.

Classic. You're worried about the bizayon of a guy who admitted (see the VIN interview) that he violated Choshen Mishpat as well as other possible issurim.

But are you concerned about the victim?? A woman who was dressed in tziusdik manner??

You're priorities are messed up. Maybe that's why Moshiach hasn't come!

Ye "bala avera" aka everyday Israeli with an education and career opportunities are fleeing Jerusalem for other cities. What do you have left?... The non employed, under-skilled Haredi and Arabs to love each other and hate the Israeli society while sucking every last tax dollar from the system. Have fun fighting over who can pray where, who can wear what, and who can say what and who can think what.

Hitting another person is a clear-cut issur D'oraissah. Moreover, the woman in this case was dressed in a tzniusdik manner, according to the report. Who gave them (or you) the "full right" to be oiver and Issur from the Torah?

Furthermore, how does violating at least one issur (maybe many more) make a neighborhood better? If anything, it makes the neighborhood more like S'dom.

Yes, it's a "petty" we don't have more like you as well. Here's how to avoid doing that "huge sin" of looking at women:

Look Away! Close your eyes! Cross the street.

If you think the proper response is to pepper spray a woman for walking down the street because you don't approve of her being a woman who needs to get somewhere while you are on the same street, you are clinically insane. And a "chili hasham" as well!

So, now the streets belong to you as well?

Maybe if you don't like who's walking down the street, YOU are the one who should cross and walk on the other side?

And, by the way, until you get your own island, the land and the country do NOT belong to you personally, and neither does the sidewalk, even in front of your house. If you don't like who is standing in front of your house, close the window shade. If I chose to dance in front of your house half-dressed, all you need to do is NOT LOOK.

Even small children and animals can ignore something that does not interest them, why can't you?

You are arrogant, illiterate, and shame all Jews by writing such drivel that the entire world can read.

The means will never justify the cause.

And the demonstrations on shabbos which causes and caused CHILUL SHABBOS in the name of chillul shabbos makes sense to you?

Moshiach is here already. Just look at the chutzpah level and the chilul hahshem caused by "farfrumteh" people. Nebach.

Maybe enlighten us with an answer to this question. Has anyone ever in the history of klal yisroel become frum or more frum after having a rock thrown at thier head or mace sprayed in their face?

Are you kidding? Is a "women" allowed to walk on the "st" where it's(sic) designed(?) for man yes or no?

I have no idea what planet you are from, but your idea that streets should be "designed" for men or women is more disgusting than any Chilul Hashem you're worried about by walking on the same sidewalk.

Nebbuch, a woman walked on the same sidewalk as this tzaddik. I wonder if he (or you) ever patronizes a store or government agency where women walk and talk?

Does he (or you) ever get on an airplane where, rachmono litzlon, there are women on the same plane? Visit a hospital? where there are FEMALE nurses?

You guys can't even control yourselves, and you want to control other people? You are an embarrassment to all religious jews everywhere.

If you can't control your thoughts or actions if there is a woman walking on the street minding her own business, then stay home. Even goyim and animals can accomplish that. If you can't, then YOU don't belong on the street.

Also, can something be done on VIN to require at least a second-grade ability to spell in English? The evident lack of formal education in commenters is an even bigger embarrassment than the articles.

Lets be real. Ninty five percent of chareidim are upset with the lack of focus on tzinius but are outraged by these incidents. The few percent who seem to believe that the ends justify the means are obviously sick and deranged yiddin who find supporters among some posters on this site. Yes, not a good Jew like you who believes the world was created so that self-righteous chasidim can pepper-spray strangers who don't get out of their way and off their holy sidewalk fast enough when instructed to.

I was unaware, however, that this behavior was, as you put it, a career choice instead of a brief mental aberration.

I think you should go back to yeshiva and learn a little more about what Torah mitzvos and "maasim tovim" are. I can assure you they do not include pepper-spraying strangers who don't do what you insist. and do not include defending those who act that way.

It is people like you who can make me ashamed to be identified as part of the frum community, not others who are minding their own business and just don't adhere to your "standards". Just remember that ANYONE can read comments like yours, not just your friends who understand that you don't know how to act in the real world with other people.

Please understand that when it was written that this world was created just for you, it was not meant to be taken so literally. You seem to have missed the point of this entirely.

If you think he acted appropriately and in a Torahdik way in pepper-spraying a complete stranger for not getting off his sidewalk when he told her to (and NO ONE claimed she was not tzniusdikly dressed - that was just thrown in to help justify this disgusting behavior), you really need to get to your doctor, quickly, and have your medication adjusted.

Oy, what is wrong with you? A public street is not private property and anyone can walk on whichever street they want. If he was unhappy that she was walking down that particular street this nutcase has the right to make a choice and walk somewhere else but he cannot deny her the freedom to walk where she wanted. I'm quite certain that whoever "designed" that street didn't "design" it for the sole purpose of men using it.

First of all #43 was referring to your comment of who lives in Jerusalem and who left the city to "go out" and "find happiness" some place else, and he kind of put you in place.
And regarding your current comment, I just want to know if you saw any of those incidents alleged by this hateful article, or of what you wrote yourself? did you witness a yid spraying pepper spray on women?
Those are all a bunch of lies and fabrications.
The frum haters, especially the molesters and predators will take a few isolated stories of some psycho mental cases that happened 10 years ago, and will always bring up the story whenever they are talking about frum people or kano'im.

You want answers? Okay: No. No. No. No. No. A wedding is a private affair, a street is in the public domain so the same rules do not apply. No. And lastly, no.

This article is not about secular Israelis so I don't see why you try to obfuscate the matter by bringing them up. When VIN posts an article about the abominable behavior of a particular secular Israeli then feel free to come out with your opinions (although to paint them all with the same brush is ignorant).
The topic under discussion is this Yolish character and his pepper-spraying of a woman who did the unforgiveable -- she didn't run across the street when he told her to. A woman who walks down the street does not take away any kedusha from Yerushalyim, for all you know she may have been on her way to do a mitzvah and Yolish prevented her. It's a sad day for klal yisroel that there are people like you and others who defend this type of behavior.

I take special exception to your term "frum haters". I'll venture to say that the majority of people here on VIN who are disgusted by the behavior of this pepper-spraying nutcase are frum yiddin and they (we) are not self-haters. We despise the behavior of people like the aforementioned nutcase who appear to be frum (but can they really be frum when they behave like this?) but since we are frum ourselves we know that most frum people aren't like that.

Why would I believe her word over his? Pretty simple. If you took the time to read the VIN interview, he admitted that he was responsible for, at a minimum, destruction of property, in clear violation of Choshen Mishpat. Not only that, but he had trouble justifying himself when the interviewer showed him how wrong he clearly was. He's an uneducated person who has a twisted view of the Torah. So that's why I believe the victim over the accuser.

Perhaps you accuse VIN of also making up lies? No matter, you probably don't let the facts get in your way very often.

Problem is, the "makom kodesh" seems to encroach on more and more neighborhoods every year and the restrictions get more and more extreme every year. I have had friends who were denied service at Meah Shearim stores because the residents objected to the color of their jacket---apparently, white is no longer acceptable. Neither is a long denim skirt nor are sandals. It's getting so that Sarah Imeinu wouldn't be allowed in.

What are you doing on the internet? Rav Shlomo Z. Auerbach never raised a hand or anything else to people who acted questionably, he was a kind and tolerant person. You obviously have no experience with people who are not exactly like you. I don't care how holy the people from Meah Shearim think they are. If this man represents them we are all in big trouble. Does a Makom Kadosh remain holy when a man who thinks he is holy injures another person? Believe you me, Machlokes is a lot worse than Pritzus. The BHM was destroyed for that very reason, but of course you would never understand that. How pathetic. How sad.

Even if he sits in jail a little it's not such a big deal. He's got nothing better to do anyway, and the attention he's getting is well worth it.

Basically, he is no better than a suicide bomber, except that he likes to stay alive after his attacks in order to relish in the attention.

This guy is just a living testimony to the impact of living in the State of Israel.

In fact, I think that the frummer, the Kannoim living there have it much worse then the general charedi public, since the regular charedim take advantage of the Medinah betoras heiter - as they believe it's all more-less kosher; "kannoim" living there pasken for themselves that it's all treif, and yet it's a simple fact that one can't live in the State and not take advantage of the goodies ...

Hello, I walked over to a friend's house on CHS and back. The next day CHS I walked over to get an etrog. On neither day were the sexes segregated, not even in the extremely narrow part of Mea Shearim Street. Then on CHS I also walked to attend a brit at a synagogue on a side street and I walked around a few side streets to get there. There isn't even any sidewalk on those streets. No separation. This is emet.

unfortunately for you, since I am frum and my family is frum, I guess all we molesters and predators ever do is talk about 10 year old psycho cases with each other.

I am also very ashamed by how #43 "put me in my place" before I even wrote anything.(you see,#48 comes after #43 in the real world).

Did you have a comment to make? DId you want to defend the man, who, by the way, admitted what he did? Or is seeing your words in print, even though they are not coherent, enough to satisfy?
