Yossi Shpinoza, Teitel's neighbor from the Shvut Rachel settlement, has been arrested some two weeks ago after his association with Teitel came to light, but was released after only a few hours. He was rearrested again today on suspicion of involvement with Teitel's alleged crimes.
Authorities announced on Sunday that they had arrested American-born Teitel on suspicion of carrying out a series of deadly terrorist shootings and bombings over a dozen years, in which two Palestinians were killed and left-wing academic Prof. Ze'ev Sternhell was wounded.
Police today were refusing to allow Shpinoza's lawyers to meet him, and his remand is expected to be extended on Wednesday.

This is good news. Cracking down on these yiddeshe terrorists will show that EY is finally serious about an even handed approach to all terrorism and will severely punish those who attack arabs. It will also facilitate negotiations on a peace settlement.

I have a feeling that the attack on the gay teens in Tel Aviv is somehow connected to Teitel or his co-conspirators. My claim is not too far fetched considering the man has the capability to have done it, and he was arrested while posting anti-gay flyers. Let's watch and see how the story will unfold week by week.

It is outrageous that any headline would proclaim that this orthodox Jew was a 'terrorist', based solely on the claims made by the Israeli Shin Bet. This fellow disappeared for weeks, subject to all sorts of psychological and probably physical torture by the Shabak (Shin Bet, or secret police), without being allowed to speak with anyone--not his wife, not a lawyer, no one. After weeks of sleep deprivation and such 'treatment,' he supposedly signed a confession.
Perhaps he is indeed guilty of every single crime to which he 'confessed,' including crimes even the Shabak now claims he could not have committed, but anyone who knows anything about police, let alone the Shin Bet, knows that police ideally seek to get one person to be the culprit for all their unsolved crimes.
Fortunately for the Shin Bet, they have many naive supporters, right here at V.I.N.
Rather than daven for this man's family and even for this man, instead all sorts of chachamim have convicted him and seek the worst punishments for him, so as to make the Israeli state seem impartial--as if doing so would benefit the Jews of Eretz Israel even one iota.

Isn't everyone supposed to be considered innocent before the verdict of guilty. Why is everyone condemning these people, when we really, or anyone else, still don't know too much about this case or them?

Wrong!
Israel is more even-handed than any other country! The Arabs see these crackdowns as signs of weakness, which emboldens them. This won't change any opinions about Israel. The anti-Semites in the UN will continue to hate Israel just the same.

PLEASE KEEP YOUR DUMB OPINIONS IN YOUR GUTS. let's see, big talker. go in ramallah or in any arabic neighborhood and first point out how many of them don't want to KILL you and then post the number on vin.

As if you feel comfortable as a Jew (if ur one) to sleep over in some arab/muslim hotel in say Gaza.
Let's see what ur chances are for you to come out alive.
These arabs strive to get a work permit to work for us. I have yet to hear any of them complain they are scared for their safety.
Where's the "so called" majority that you say don't support terror. I have yet to see "one" news conference of you beloved "friendly arab"

Poster #10 wins a year's subscription for hilchos loshon hara from the Chofetz Chaim Heritage Foundation---he will sorely need it! He also wins a subscription for new eyeglasses, as nothing in my prior post suggests I support terrorists. Cynicism about the Israeli security forces is not the same as support for terrorism. There have been attempts in the past to pin all sorts of crimes on this or that Jewish 'settler.'
Anyone who doubts that the Israeli government at times has sought to demonize the 'settler's is naive at best.
And anyone who thinks that a Jewish suspect, even a terror suspect, should not be given the right to legal counsel, to speak with anyone except interrogators, while sleep deprived, and slapped around for weeks on end, does not understand the basics of civil rights.
Having said that, it may turn out that this fellow did in fact commit one or more terrorist acts, in which case he deserves punishment.
But the complete elimination of basic rights is something that should frighten all of us.
Ask not for whom the bells tolls. It tolls for thee.

Mr. Gullible (and not so gullible), I couldn't have said it better than you. (and don't know anyone who could...)
But please don't confuse us with the facts. You see, some of us readers/posters here would rather remain ignorant and have our little minds set one way and one way only. Whether we make sense even to ourselves don't really matter...
Really. We're all adults here. It's kind of late to try and knock some sense into us now, don't you think?!

They will never be even handed. Arab terrorists get freed soon afterwards even though they sacrificed Jewish lives in catching them. The Israelis get arrested when toching an Arab while trying to help their fellow friend and never get freed.
