Washington - The unemployment rate has surpassed 10 percent for the first time since 1983 — and is likely to go higher. Nearly 16 million people can't find jobs even though the worst recession since the Great Depression has apparently ended. The Labor Department said Friday that the economy shed a net total of 190,000 jobs in October, less than the downwardly revised 219,000 lost in September. August job losses were also revised lower, to 154,000 from 201,000

The jobless rate was over 10% in 1983 because the great Ronald Reagan was still cleaning up the messes of his horrific predecessor. Anyone with half a brain knows that is the same reason here. It took years for our economy to collapse. Anyone who thought it would just bounce back after 10 months was a fool.

Just watch Gibbs come out and say, Obama saved almost 90% of all jobs. If not for him, employment would be zero.
And the nation falls for it again

That may or may not be true. Time will show that through results. However, these alarmist articles only point out to me more and more how we fail to learn from history... even RECENT history. Whether you like Obama or not, the facts are the facts. The failed economic policies of the Bush administration and the Republican led Congress certainly helped get us here. It's the job of Obama and the Democrat led Congress to help get us out. If they can do it, great. If they can't, we replace them ASAP. However, it is WAY too early in the game to be making any real judgments on results which haven't happened yet.

Just an observation, the people passing the stimulus package and budget in Washingtom are mostly lawyers. The people running wall street are economists and statisticians. The budget passes and the stock market tans. Who do you believe?
