Washington - NBC: Obama's Frightening Insensitivity Following Shooting |
|

After news broke out of the shooting at the Fort Hood Army post in Texas, the nation watched in horror as the toll of dead and injured climbed. The White House was notified immediately and by late afternoon, word went out that the president would speak about the incident prior to a previously scheduled appearance. At about 5 p.m., cable stations went to the president. The situation called for not only his trademark eloquence, but also grace and perspective.
But instead of a somber chief executive offering reassuring words and expressions of sympathy and compassion, viewers saw a wildly disconnected and inappropriately light president making introductory remarks. At the event, a Tribal Nations Conference hosted by the Department of Interior's Bureau of Indian affairs, the president thanked various staffers and offered a "shout-out" to "Dr. Joe Medicine Crow -- that Congressional Medal of Honor winner." Three minutes in, the president spoke about the shooting, in measured and appropriate terms. Who is advising him?
Anyone at home aware of the major news story of the previous hours had to have been stunned. An incident like this requires a scrapping of the early light banter. The president should apologize for the tone of his remarks, explain what has happened, express sympathy for those slain and appeal for calm and patience until all the facts are in. That's the least that should occur.
In his initial televised remarks following the devastating American tragedy, Barack Obama first addresses White House conference attendees -- even giving one a chummy "shout-out" -- before finally turning his attention towards the horrific mass killing at the Ft. Hood Army base in Texas.

The mans true feelings about the military are visible in his lack of compassion shown in his speech. To him it's more important to talk nonsense about Indians then to address the tragedy taking place at the same time on an army base in Texas. Perhaps now even the lefties will recognize the true character of the man they put in the White House.

the ppl in the room didnt even know what was going on and those that did get info on bbeberrys got the sae concflicting and cofusing info we all were getting. instead of coming in and breaking the terrible news, he got them quite, gave the requisite words of intro, and got to a very thorough and meaning ful report of what je knew at the time and how he felt. would you rather he came in and made a gasping announcement, and then said oh by the way "hi indians"?

I don't think we realize yet that what happened here, has now changed America and the entire world, FOREVER, in a much more profound way than the way Sept 11th has changed the world forever.
We can defend against a Sept 11th type attack, but with our liberal way of thinking, where it it's beyond our dignity (in the US) and against our "democratic system" to defend against such future MUSLIM attacks and so the danger will continue to lurk and proliferate, by both organized planed shootings and by loner copy-cats.
The only way we could defend against this is for us all to recognized the plain naked truth that "a Muslim is a Muslim" and we all know what that means and every 5 year old knows EXACTLY what it means.
But sadly, our "democratic" idiosyncrasies, will force us to close our eyes to all these ticking time bombs, lest we be called "racists" and it's "NOT NICE" to be called "racists" and so the only remaining choice is to close our eyes to reality and for everyone else to remain sittings ducks waiting to be shot again, Chas Vesholom.

What a disgrace. I hope enough Americans will recognize this travesty for what it is, and will backlash next election. If we are particularly fortunate, he will do something stupid enough to get impeached. I have yet to hear one honest and good move in a positive direction. Yes, a Jew IS always a Jew, and shmadding isn't going to change that. But meshumodim SHOULD be dealt with harshly. Now, what was your point again?
What was wrong at Auschwitz wasn't "thinking of an entire nation the same way". What was wrong at Auschwitz was that they murdered Jews! That doesn't mean every nation is the same. The Jews were not waging war against the Germans, and were no threat to the Germans, and the Germans had no reason to hate or fear us. But the Germans did wage ware against us and threaten us, so we had every right to hate and fear them, and if we could have wiped out the entire German nation at that time IT WOULD HAVE BEEN RIGHT THING TO DO. THAT is the lesson of Auschwitz.

I am not saying I don't agree on some level, I absolutely LOVE the use of the word narcissist by even more people who don't know the meaning of the word. It is so interesting how I cannot find any references here in VIN to the President being a "narcissist" before Rush Limbaugh made that claim in a TV interview sometime last week. It is amazing how once Rush uses a word, those who bow down to him as their messiah pick up using his language thinking that it makes them sound intelligent.
I must admit, there is nothing funnier than when the ignorant and uneducated just start repeating things they here on the radio, and when they use words that they clearly don't understand, it is even funnier.

Yes. This is so true. We must call EVERY Muslim a Terrorist and never allow them near our military or secured installations where they could cause damage. Clearly, there is a history of such behavior.
At the same time I would also like to point out that we must stop being politically correct in ALL areas. Our economy has collapsed on the backs of ponzi schemers, dishonest CEO's, and thieving 'brokers'. This is why I fully support removing all Jews from areas of finance or public trust. We must be willing to speak the truth and realize that every major financial crisis has had a disproportionate number of Jews involved in the corruption if not leading the way. We must never trust Jews with money or our economy.... because clearly there is a history of such behavior.
Of course this is meant to be sarcastic.

The fundamental problem is that the west refuses acknowledge Islam is a tactic not a religion. Part of that tactic is calleing itself a religion to make it more palatable. Islam is now holding where christianity was 1000 years ago in the midst of a crusade to take over the world knowing that G-d was a major sponsor and offered long term benefits. Some where along the line (although rather recently) Christianity realized that peace and prosperity were better alternatives to bloodshed oppression and impovershment. Muslims, with money gushing out of the ground in many of their countries still haven't figured that out and still prefer the latter for some reason.
