Brooklyn, NY - Flatbush Shomrim Stops Burglary While Owner on Vacation |
|
Brooklyn, NY - A citizen patrolman thwarted a burglary attempt at a Midwood home while the owner was away on vacation, police sources said.
Isaam Henry, 17, smashed a back window and climbed into the residence on Avenue I near East 27th Street at 1:30 p.m. police said.
A member of the Flatbush Shomrim, a volunteer patrol, spotted Henry and called 911.
Police rushed to the scene, finding the teen in the bedroom with a hammer and a crowbar, sources said.
Henry was arrested and charged with burglary and criminal trespass, said a spokesman for DA Charles Hynes.
VIN: It's interesting to note, that in the past few weeks the Flatsbush Shomrim have been quite successful in apprehending a few noted burglars who have terrorized for a while the neighborhood.

What is the bottom line? Were these criminals placed in jail or are they out already? This, my fireinds, is the bottom line. This, my friends, is what you evalutate in voting Charles Hynes into office. This, my friends, is what determines whether law enforcemnt is on the side of the victims or on the side of thses jungle rats.

Yiyasher Koach, Shomrim!!
However, I would appreciate if VIN would please inform the public of the perpetrator's conviction and sentencing. These successes are somewhat futile if there is no consequence for criminal activity. If this burglar is let off easy, both him and others of his ilk get the message, i.e. you can do what you want because even if your caught, its no so bad.

Agreed, if people from the community do not show up at trial or sentencing, then what message do you think that sends to Charles Hynes? That the jews don't care about criminal justice. I ag ree with you that the public must be informed of the case.

I was dismissed from jury duty service after calling Charles Hynes spineless because he wouldn't make the case a capital punishment case and the person accused was involved in the killing of a police officer. Time for him to go!!

Aren't a hammer and crowbar deadly weapons? The police should have shot him.

We didn't have a choice. There was no one running against him last Tuesday, his name was on 4 party lines, just like in a dictatorship.

Shomrim caught someone in the act of breaking into my home while we were sleeping. He had been in the garage and was attempting to break open the back door using various tools in his backpack. He claimed he was only "resting" in the backyard. The police were called and he was arrested. However, he was ultimately let go without punishment as he hadn't done anything wrong yet!
