New York - The United States Marshals Service announced today the remaining properties in New York and Florida, formerly owned by Bernard L. and Ruth Madoff, are in the hands of brokers and on the market – a 4,000 square-foot duplex penthouse in New York City and a 6,500 square-foot estate in Palm Beach, Fla. The Manhattan penthouse is being offered for sale by Sotheby’s International Realty and the Palm Beach property will be offered for sale by the Corcoran Group, according to the Marshals Service, which selected the real estate firms. Madoff’s vacation home in Montauk, N.Y., was placed on the market earlier this month with the Corcoran Group.

“The United States Marshals Service took a major step towards restitution for the victims last week by announcing the broker to list the Madoff home in Montauk,” said United States Marshal Joseph R. Guccione, who heads the agency’s Southern District of New York office where the Madoff investigations were conducted. “We are taking an even bigger step this week by announcing that brokers have been selected for the remaining properties and they will be listed for sale immediately.”
