Police said vandals shot at the door of the Lubavitch Education Center along 12th Street and Alton Road as children played inside. Glass shattered everywhere.

“I don’t know, it’s just terrible. It’s very alarming that something like this could happen. It’s something that we have to be concerned about,” Rabbi Shragi Mann said.

Crews have since boarded up the door at the Jewish school.

Shots were also fired at a nearby bank and Chinese restaurant.

According to a report by COLlive Rabbi Bentzion Korf, executive director of the Yeshiva, believes this should be categorized as a hate crime; that it may have been anti-semitic in nature.

At this time, the police said they have no suspects.

My son was there for 2 years. it’s a well-known landmark & quite vulnerable. Now they’ll have to invest in security measures. Glad everyone is OK.

I go to school there. and people that were nearby said they heard nothing and it is assumed that it was either a marble or rock or possibly a bb gun.

Local Florida media reports are claiming it’s NOT a hate crime as a nearby bank also had its windows damaged.
