Jarratt, VA - The mastermind of the 2002 sniper attacks that killed 10 in the Washington, D.C., region has been executed.

A prison spokesman says John Allen Muhammad died by injection at 9:11 p.m. Tuesday at Greensville Correctional Center.

Muhammad was executed for killing Dean Harold Meyers at a gas station during the spree that terrorized Maryland, Virginia and Washington, D.C., over a three-week period. His teenage accomplice, Lee Boyd Malvo, was sentenced to life in prison.

Prison spokesman Larry Traylor says Muhammad had no final words. He says he didn’t hear him utter a word the entire time.

BDE. This was the right verdict and the death penalty was warranted.

I am glad his punishment is broadcasted as we always hear about the crime being done and howit was done..... giving bright ideas to people but we never hear their punishment. Maybe hearing the punishment as well will put some fear in people to kill so fast.

Giving him more pain will not bring back the dead. Why should our taxes go for this murderer.

This doesn't exactly call for a "BDE". Do you even know what it means?

Kesheim Shemevorchim al hatov kach mevorchim, it bless the true judge, why wouldn't it apply here in the good way. Loss of life any life any reason is tragig though.
In these cases death in not punishment, because after death what could he do, iot its a type of attonment & the best one could do to the murderer,it is mercy & not evil.

Thanks be to God for the end of this saga. Let the region have some peace. The death penalty is not wrong. In this case its most especially correct. Every day since he was caught the victims had to live knowing that their tax dollars were supporting him 100%. How offensive that they should have to pay to feed, clothe, house and so on with medical and legal expenses for the man who killed or injured their loved ones. He and his accomplice brought a terror upon the capital region worse than that of 9-11. Its a shame less than a yr of age prevents us from executing Malvo as well. We should streamline the process of the death penalty to make it more effcient and effective. why should one be afraid to get it if you can spend 40 yrs on death row?

The Liberal's of the USA have pushed to have lethal injection used as the choice for execution (if and when it finally get's to that). That in my opinion to far too humane for one who commits such horrific crimes...the punishment should be at least equal to the crime...he should have been shot by a firing squad. I for one don't miss him.

"He was declared dead at 9:11PM EST."

Considering he was supposed to die at midnight, I find it interesting he was executed earlier, and pronounced at this exact time.

Of course it does. He was judged. The True Judge has judged him. The executioner was only a pawn in His game.

If you look at taxpayers money, you should know that execution is more expensive then life in jail!!!

He was part of the same jihad, even if he had no contact with his fellow jihadists.

I am never "happy" to see another human being killed for any reason.

However, this man did the crimes and took the lives of 10 people. He 100% deserved the punishment that was handed to him last night, and I appreciate those who were courageous enough to carry out the execution.

What is wrong with you? Killing someone with dark skin and a Muslim name is "revenge" for something a bunch of completely unrelated Muslims did? I suppose you'll want to kill the Evil Jew for murdering Jesus.

You are so right! Kinda like why we don't say the whole Hallel for the whole Pesach.. I seem to remember something about the Yam Suf.

Yes Milhouse... I get it. However, I still find no happiness or joy in the death of another human being. That is not to say there are not times where death is necessary, or that we are not better off with certain people wiped off the face of the earth (as in this case). But to actually find some kind of joy in it is not something I am capable of doing. I can find joy in the fact that we will never have to worry about this man again, without feeling happiness over his actual death. There is a rational difference.

You need to open a gemara instead of making up strange theories. We don't say whole hallel after the first days of Pesach because the korbonos don't vary. And the gemara in Megillah specifically REJECTS the idea that we should feel sorry for the Mitzrim.
