New York - Feds Move To Seize Four U.S. Mosques and NYC Skyscraper Owned by Muslim Group |

The Complaint alleges that the Alavi Foundation has been providing numerous services to the Iranian Government and transferring funds from 650 Fifth Avenue Company to Bank Melli, a bank wholly owned and controlled by the Government of Iran.(ABC News Photo Illustration) (edit)
The organization _ called the Alavi Foundation 
_ has long been suspected of being under Iranian government control. Prosecutors say the foundation has been helping to illegally funnel money back to the Iranian government.
The government filed a forfeiture action in federal court in New York to seize four mosques in the city and in Maryland, California and Houston. The government also wants to take control of a 36-story office tower on New York's Fifth Avenue.
The filing starts what could be a drawn-out legal process.
The action against the Shiite Muslim mosques is sure to inflame relations between the U.S. government and American Muslims. Many of them are fearful of a backlash after last week's Fort Hood shooting rampage, blamed on a Muslim American soldier.
The mosques and the office tower will remain open while the forfeiture case works its way through court.

I am sorry but nothing you said is true nor does it make sense. How can you say the jews live or lived well in iran when its a known fact that 1000's of jews had to flee the country by sneaking out because they weren't allowed to leave. The jews were very oppressed in iran. Read up on your history and current events. You should rejoice that the unite states is taking a stand against terrorist regimes like iran.

This smells more like a property grab than anything else.
The "links to terrorism" are unfounded, as the only basis of the seizure is the fact that 40% of the building USED TO be owned by the Iranian bank who gave a $42million loan in 1978 to construct it (back when Iran was a close ally of the USA). The other 60% was (and is) owned by a foundation of the late-Shah - an enemy of Islamic Iran, and an ally of the USA and all of the Western World.
The Shah was kicked out of the country, Iran's leaders changed, and they went from being a US friend to a US enemy. The loan was since erased, and the Iranian Bank no longer owns those 40% of shares anymore. It is 65% owned by the pro-USA foundation, and 35% by an affiliate company.
The issue suddenly became, after Obama was sworn in, whether the company (which owns 35%) is connected to that same Iranian bank which gave the original mortgage.
If that is the case (and it remains to be proven, by the way) then Obama's geniuses say that due to the current US embargo on Iran, they cannot own property in the USA - and hence, we should "turn back the clock" to 1978 and confiscate 40% of the building.
Government theft on a technicality.

Ironic how the Fifth Avenue building is called the "Pahlavi Building" and was designed in 1978 for the Pahlavi Foundation which was founded by Mohamed Reza Pahlavi.... the pro-western Shah of Iran who was deposed in the Islamic Coup of the Ayatollah in 1979.
It is still majority owned by the ex-Shah's foundation, who was protected by the USA and other Western governments and banks.
But, since a percentage of the building is also suspected of being owned by an Iranian bank (possibly for the original mortgage, back in the 70s?) - the US has been trying to seize the entire building since 2008 (when the seizure request was submitted)...
Sounds like an Obama get-rich-quick scheme, to steal a multi-million-dollar building so the US government can get some easy and free money to pay for their social excesses...

well first off i am not pro-israel. israel is not my jewish homeland and other than the one time i went there i have no intentions on going back. i live in america and i am proud to be an american jew. i dont believe that a country needs to bombed like dresden because their powerless president said israel stinks.

i think supporting the bombing of the place hold the tombs of ancient persian jewery including mordechai and esther is a way bigger in justice.
