New York - On Thursday, FBI Assistant Director in Charge (ADIC) Joseph Demarest met with a group of Chabad-Lubavitch Emissaries from around the globe, who have gathered in the Crown Heights section of Brooklyn for their annual conference. He discussed the FBI’s efforts to combat international terrorism and what the Chabad-Lubavich leadership can do to help safeguard peace in their communities.

In emphasizing the FBI’s ability to work very closely with partners from national and international law enforcement, intelligence agencies, corporations and community organizations, he said: “In today’s increasingly interconnected world, collaboration between law enforcement and community organizations is essential to protect the world against those intent to disrupt our peace. We are proud of the strong relationships we have built over the years and we will continue to do everything we can to strengthen them even more. I am honored to have such distinguished Chabad-Lubavich leaders as Rabbi Yehuda Krinsky and Rabbi Mendel Sharfstein among our friends, and we are thankful to Devorah Halberstam for her tireless efforts to bring us all together.”

ADIC Demarest’s presentation was followed by an engaging Q&A session, during which he addressed such a wide variety of issues as: security of the community facilities, best ways to establish and maintain ties with law enforcement agencies around the world, and what resources are available within the FBI to meet the needs of all communities it serves.

Would that be "Fort Hood?"
It is a good thing that bridges are being built. The FBI had a poor record with the Jewish community (especially during the Hoover years) and this is progress.
As for the shooting, we don't know whether the FBI should know the motive: the investigation will take time. If they were to say today "we know the motive," I would be suspicious: investigations take time.

Issue Is not that there was an attack, the issue is that libirals and especialy obame admin will not recognize and take propper action.

Bush had an attack in first year of leadership and recognized what needs to be and took propper action

When tagedy struck in Mumbai - on that terrible day it didn't matter if one was Litvish, Chassidish, Yeshivish, YUnick, or any other flavor, because on that day we were all Chabad!

When I see such an article about Chabad, these shlichim ready to sacrifice their ruchniyis and even literally their actual lives for the sake of klal - I feel we are all still Chabad.

I say to each of these Chabadnicks, "Chazak!"

Interesting enough, President bush didn't have any problem claiming that 9/11 was an act of terrorism, while this president is only busy saying that it's not mudslimes. just working hard that nobody should dare think something like this about his religion. One thing is for certain, we now have one less terrorist willing be a suicide terrorist. obama wont do that, he's on the throne and nobody will try pushing him to do just that. (Note: he's still part of them)
