In late November, Costco plans to begin offering copies of “The Illustrated Torah,” a colorful and appropriately supersized rendering of the Old Testament, at select stores around the country.
Weighing in at 3.8 pounds per copy, the book will appear at Costco branches in areas that have significant Jewish populations, including New York, Florida, California and Washington, D.C.
Produced by Gefen Publishing House in Jerusalem, the work contains English translations of each week’s Torah and Haftarah portions, many adorned with Hebrew inscriptions and paintings by Israeli artist Michal Meron.

I feel a little queasy at the thought of this book being sold under the same roof as family-sized packs of pork chops. I hope they don't end up in the same shopping cart together.

I bought a few volumes of the English Steinsaltz at Costco a few years ago. It was sold for about half the retail price. If there is a market and they get a good price they'll sell it.

No...it is the St. James version of Tanach...why kind of naresh question is this...there is no "orthodox version"...torah moshe me'sinai is the only torah.

I still can't understand why the Costco in North Miami Beach does not have a Kosher Bakery & meat etc like is decribed in outher posts. It's not like we don't have the population.

Close but no cigar, it is the "King James Version" not the St. James and as much as most Jews would like to think there are various editions of the "Torah" there is only as you say ONE version Torah Moshe M'Sinai and the sooner Yidden would recognize this fact the better off we would all be!

Actually it's the "Authorized King James Version". One of the best items to ever come out of a committee.

Not that I have anything against it, but the question was probably from someone with concerns about some of the depictions. For example, there are some Tanakh/Torah books where they draw pictures of angels, where the more fum books don't because the gedolim say we shouldn't have pictures of them. I have seen this even where multiple copies are produced so they can satisfy both sides.
