KJ Protest Draws Small Group
KJ Protest Draws Small Group (edit)
Kiryas Joel, NY - They had hoped to attract hundreds to protest attempts by leaders of Rabbi Aaron Teitelbaum's congregation to close a dissident synagogue.

But whether from fear or lack of interest, only a few men stood in solidarity beside Forest Road on Friday morning as Rabbi Alter Moshe Goldberger raised a megaphone and began railing against Teitelbaum, the spiritual leader of Kiryas Joel's majority faction.

For nearly three weeks, a group calling itself the Committee for the Victims in Kiryas Joel had pressed village officials for a permit to protest in front of Teitelbaum's house, saying at first they expected as many as 1,000 participants.

Unused to such requests, the village initially provided a building application form, then created a six-page permit application that demanded such details as the loudspeaker wattage, the expected decibel level and a "survey by licensed engineer or surveyor of the premises upon which the mass gathering is to be conducted."

Result: No permit was issued.

its unbelievably that the world jewry can stand so silently when people go to court to close a synegoge especially such a holy place as the Satmarer Rebes old home
can anyone imagine if the neighbors of the lebowitsher Rebbe ztl would go to court to close his home from praying overtheir.
it would be 24 Hours protests aginst that

NO! it's not about money at all! It's about respect. No. about disrespect. When your whole attitude is "In your face", and you still expect the other party to pay for your utilities and parking. It's not even about opening another location. If it were done in a normal, respectful way.

Teitelbaum doesn't seem to care about what is being done by his cronies or else they just ignore him. Either way, what goes on in KJ appears to the rest of the world like the inmates having taken over the asuylum. Why would the heilege rav yoelish, Z'tl and the rebbitzen nave to watch every day the chilul hashem occuring in the town and beis medrash bearing their name.

When there is so much sorrow, illness, kids at risk, parnosah problems, why don't we, the chosen nation, set an example of brotherhood and peace. HOW DO WE EXPECT THE GENTILES AND NON FRUM AND ASSIILATED JEWS TO L00K AT US , SUPPOSEDLY RELIGIOUS JEWS THEY CAN ONLY LOOK DOWN AT SUCH WILD AND DISRESPECTFUL BEHAVIOR) Isn't time to stop with the unnecessary strife and start getting along so that we can once again be in Yerushalayim and not have to be scattered on all corners of the earth. Stop and think for a moment. What lessons are you men teaching your children? You think they stand a chance of being normal upstanding citizens or jews Not in this life!!!!!!!

Since the village didn't issue a permit when it was requested, the official organizers of the protest backed off.
Rabbi Goldberger decided on his own to take a few yungeleit and do a small scale demonstration just to ler his voice being heard.
And it was, it was in the local news and eventually also on VIN.

If a bochur from Zalman's kehillah, chas vasholom, were to marry a girl from Aaron's kehillah, the family would be put in charem. Its worse than marrying a goy.

You don't know what you are talking about.
#1 this case is not Aron VS Zalman fractions. It is Aron VS Bnei Yoel which is a 3rd fraction.
#2 Satmar is not Bobov or Klausenburg, Visnitz. People to marry each other, altough not as common.

"Satmar is not Bobov or Klausenburg, Visnitz. People marry each other, although not as common.”

The Satmar do not marry Bobov or Vishnitz.....it might have happened once or twice but the chasan/kalah probably left the kehillah and move away. The bnai yoelish don't really constitute a branch of satmar. They are a lunatic fringe group that worship the rebbitzen feiga or some apikorsus like that...
