Crist, a Republican, has set the election for April 6 to replace Democratic Rep. Robert Wexler. The Boca Raton congressman is resigning in January to become president of the Center for Middle East Peace.
A spokesman for Crist had no immediate comment.
Four Republicans and three Democrats are running in the heavily Jewish 19th District. Two of those candidates, both Democrats, are Jewish, as is Wexler.

There is a very large Jewish population in Boca. Who decided on this election date?
I sure hope they change the date or they may all be voted out of office on the next Election Day!

The election schedule is set by Florida law; while there are many jews in Florida, there aren't enough shomrei yom tov in the congressional district to incur the expense of changing the election date.

obama makes the first ever white house seder and people say he is just pandering. Crist makes an election on pesach and he is supposed to be a friend. if he were a democrat, people would be screaming "liberal anti-semitism"

Palm Beach County has voting the whole entire week before election day so it really doesn't matter anymore when the final date is.
