The board also is going to hire a special counsel to deal with the state commissioner of education’s action about whether to reverse the original, controversial vote to hire Albert D’Agostino.

Fromson had been abruptly let go after serving as East Ramapo counsel for the past 33 years.

Trustee Aron Wieder apologized to the public and tried to answer some of the unanswered questions from the Nov. 18 meeting.

”Change we can believe in comes with bold and daring actions that can be controversial,“ Wieder said.

The board’s action Wednesday night followed a tumultuous public sesson in which about 40 people spoke and board members met in executive session for more than two hours.

More than 400 people crowded inside the East Ramapo administration building gymnasium Wednesday night, while about 150 others listened from the halls.

Every dollar they spend on “lawyers” is another dollar not spent on teachers and classrooms. Why don’t they focus on improving the schools so that even jewish parents will want to send their kids to the local schools rather than spend thousands of dollars on private schools.

All of those who were blaming the Journal News, Preserve Ramapo etc. etc. etc., what do you have to say now? If he was correct in what he did, why is Aron Weider apologizing? If he was incorrect, then what does that say about how he conducted himself? This has nothing to do with anti-Semitism, but has a lot to do with people on the Board doing work that they are not capable of; which in the end will co$t us. Would you go to Aron Weider to have your tooth pulled, repair your car, or do your payroll taxes? This is a disgrace, and who knows who from the Heimishe Community, behind closed doors, threatened him to behave.

Weider didn’t apoligize for anything! He made excuses and still wants to hire D’Agostino, calling it a bold change. He still hasn’t told the public why he wants to hire D’Agostino and what our previous councel did wrong.

D’Agostino dropped the “F” bomb on a PTA Mom last night….then he threatened a PTA Dad with legal action during the Dad’s speech. Yes, D’Agostino is quite the class act! Why does Weider want to hire this guy so badly????? Weider needs to be removed from the Board! Shame!

Weider is a disgrace and real sleezebag. If he wants to be re-elected he needs to clean up his act. There may be legitimate reasons to hire goombah Dagostino, the problem is Weider’s fifth grade level chassidish edumucation renders him incapable of communicating coherently. His attempted apology was a joke, he looked like the last piece of cold potato kugel on the pan shabbos afternoon.

What Weider has accomplished is to completely polarize the district. Everyone sees a yarmulke they see a Weider crony. And that’s sad because most of the district, especially the frum but not on the take yidden, knows Weider is a slimeball and we both may wear yarmulkes but the similarities end there.

And the district is the only one to suffer – now there are fees on top of fees to straighten out the mess, and every dollar wasted on Weider’s shtus is another dollar he doesn’t have to funnel bids and contracts to his gekroizelde payis posse.

Last night’s meeting was embarrassing to me as an educated Jewish woman whose children have graduated from the East Ramapo system and gone on to become very successful in their careers. With the Hasidic takeover of our school board, more gelt is going into Hasidic pockets and soon there will be nothing left for the kids. I intend to write letters to the IRS, FBI and all State and local people with whom I have working business relationships to delve into the finances of this group of chazars. Word on the street is that they are currently ALL being investigated for various types of fraud, and will join their pals while eating the same food Madoff eats. At least the Kosher chickens will not have far to travel before being served. They can just truck them from New Square.

These board members are as good as their predecessors except that they actually have an interest in making the East Ramapo school system efficient, sensible & affordable to the taxpayer. Most of these hateful comments on this channel are from people who just hate the fact that we finally decided enough is enough! We are not going to sit & pay & pay & pay without accountability. Good for them all. May the 5 member block be blessed & continue doing their great work. May you haters continue to hate if it makes you feel better.

I’m orthodox & I was embarrassed by the way Weider conducted the meeting in which he hired the new law firm. He was argumentative and flat-out refused to answer questions. As the Orthodox majority, we may control the board, but we do not own the board. This is not a corporate board of directors where shareholders own the company. This is public money, and the public has a right to know WHY this law firm so needed to be hired, HOW MUCH it will likely cost, and WHERE that money is coming from. What Weider’s incalcitrance accomplished was to divide our diverse community, instead of benefiting from all it has to offer. The criticism of him is not anti-Semitic, but he HAS given latent anti-Semites lots to feast off of. So his mismanagement threatens not only public school families, but intercommunity relations in our district. This is not positive.
