Tampa, FL – A Florida judge says an autopsy can go forward on a man who wanted his body frozen until it could be brought back to life.

Circuit Judge Martha J. Cook told the Hillsborough County medical examiner on Thursday to resume the autopsy on Michael Ned Miller, 48. The Navy veteran was found dead in his Tampa apartment last week, 10 days after leg surgery.

Miller had signed a contract four years ago with Alcor Life Extension Foundation Inc. The Scottsdale, Ariz., firm freezes bodies and heads in the hopes that they can be brought back to life in the future.

Alcor sued to block the autopsy. It argued that an autopsy would “seriously impair the cryonic process” and “frustrate the purpose” of the body freezing: to keep his body preserved.

Miller, who was Jewish, had declared that for religious reasons he did not want his body desecrated by an autopsy. In 2005, he explicitly stated a desire to donate his entire body to Alcor under Florida’s Anatomical Gift Act, court documents show.

He is jewish and didn’t want an autopsy yet he doesn’t believe in Techiyas Hameisim. Hashem doesn’t need cryogenesis for Techiyas Hameisim. All those buried under ground will have TH. I wonder even if those who weren’t buried will even have a TH. If anyone knows chime in. Either way I hope someone intervenes and stops this autopsy. Its not allowed!

I don’t get it. How could the judge override the wishes of the deceased?

maybe alcor is behind the death which is why they dont want an autopsy…..they needed a body for testing purposes and since he pledged the gift, they needed to speed up the process

i doubt it but who knows
