New York - Israel's Aid To Haiti Vs. The Arab Countries Ignored By The World |
|
The Israel Defense Force is sending medical aid and personnel to assist the victims of the earthquake in Haiti.New York - Israel’s relief efforts to Haiti, include the following:
* A field hospital, the only hospital in operation, with 40 doctors, 25 nurses, paramedics, a pharmacy, a children’s ward, a radiology department, an intensive care unit, an emergency room, two operating rooms, a surgical department, an internal department and a maternity ward. The hospital can treat approximately 500 patients each day, and in addition will perform preliminary surgeries.
* A search-and-rescue team, which has rescued about five people from under the rubble.
* 220 personnel in total
* Dozens of truckloads of medical and logistical equipment
Saudi Arabia, on the other hand, one of the richest countries in the world, has sent a message of condolence to Haitian President René Préval. Some Arab countries have “pledged” help, such as $1 million pledged from both Kuwait and Morocco, and the United Arab Emirates says it will “shortly” send a plane with humanitarian assistance. Qatar, with the third largest gas reserves and the second highest GDP per capita in the world, has dispatched 50 metric tons of aid to the hundreds of thousands of homeless and injured Haitians.
Latest reports are that the IDF Medical Corps have treated some 200 injured people in Haiti, performed ten life-saving surgeries and saved the lives of 140 others. On Sunday night, a resident of Port-au-Prince gave birth to a boy at the Israeli field hospital. In appreciation and gratitude, his mother decided to name her new son “Israel” in honor of the country that helped her.

Mee ke amcho yisroel. Of Course Israel will send help to Haiti. What is the Saudis headline today. 80 year old marries 12 year old girl . That is what is important to yishmael. They didn't even help their own Palestinians in proportion to thier wealth. Ishmael is a nation of znus like the gemorrah says.

Let’s examine why Israel sent the aid. If it was a public relations gesture, then we all know that PR has its own slow way of propagating. If it was a humanitarian effort, we should let the effort be its own reward.

I highly doubt that Israel called VIN and told them to write a story on their volunteers in Haiti. "Be not afraid of greatness; some men are born great, some achieve greatness, and some have greatness thrust upon them". They're doing what they're supposed be doing. No one claimed bragging rights.

Arabs are happy to welcome you into their home, give you a cup of Turkish coffee and then stab you in the back and smile. That is their way in this world. That is why they have squandered their oil wealth and have nothing to show other than a few buildings and developments that will fall to the ground in 80 years when their wealth will have run out completely. Hopefully, Yidden will invent a new battery or engine technology that will put them out of business even sooner.

i don't think the article is fishing for praise. i think its simply pointing out that no matter how much good we do, we will always be hated for who we are.
i don't think anyone is really surprised by the lack of anyone singing our praise. i know i would've been in major shock if the times ran a story about how Israel outshines the rest of the world when it comes to helping others.

A 5 minute cursory search of CNN and FNC both show plenty of stories about Israel. I don't understand the problem.
Half the articles on CNN related to Haiti all mention either the Israeli search and rescue teams or the surgical hospital they set up. None of their headlines identify any nationalities but they always include it in the story. Many of the stories include video clips from CNN television reports. Search for ISRAEL on cnn.com.
FoxNews has less stories about Israel's involvement, but they do include at least one article whose headline state "Israeli Team to set up hospital in Haiti". I didn't see much in the way of video from television reports, but there may be some. Search ISRAEL or ISRAELI on foxnews.com
On the same token, I can hardly find mention of ANY Muslim countries at all. It would seem to me that the distinction is quite clear even if not spelled out directly.

So bottom line, this is the best thing that could have happened to the Hatian Economy. You get rid of a few hundred thousand people. You get Billions in World Aid. You now have the opportunity to rebuild a strong vibrant economy and country. I do feel sorry for all these killed and wounded people, but in the long run this has the potential to really help the surviviors prosper. It's too bad the world had to wait for a catastrophe to help the poorest country in the Western Hemisphere.

Ordinarily, you would be correct.
However, Israel is routinely vilified as racist, colonialist, and a country which commits war crimes and crimes against humanity. A magazine in Sweden claimed that Israelis killed Palestinian children to harvest their organs.
In light of all that false and vile propaganda, it is prefectly proper to point out that a small country like Israel which is halfway around the world from Haiti has still gone out of its way to provide humanitiarian aid (to a very poor and non-influential country at that -- Haiti.)

For anything to be anti-semetic they would have to call out your country in a negative way, or list every country that helped OTHER than yours. It would have to be a conscious act to make you look bad. You were not mentioned anymore or anyless than any other country besides the USA, so, I hate to sound snotty, but I am 100% correct in my statement in that this article is totally petty.

Not true, Israel should get credit where due. This is how human nature works, we want to be recognized for what we do, and we should. There is nothing wrong with taking and getting credit for something we have done. When Israel is doing something wrong there are many who jump the gun and vilify them. Now it's time for them to get the credit they deserve with its' full glory

It is a crime when you target populations of women and children and covering up that crime by claiming "self defense." The Palestinians are the ones who are defending themselves against the illegal occupation by Israel. And blocking humanitarian aid to Palestinians really shows Israel's true face.

Your protests that you "totally disapprove" of the"religious extremists" ring hollow, since you at the same time parrot the propaganda claims of those "religious extremists" hell-bent on the destruction of Israel, who have ginned up phony atrocity claims in a lame attempt to play on world sympathy to accomplish their aims, since they have repeatedly tried -- and failed -- to do it militarily. If you are really concerned about the safety of the Palestinians in Gaza, you will protest against the extremist war criminals who run the place, who make no bones about their desire to destroy Israel and who endanger their own civilian population by firing missiles indiscriminately at civilian population centers in Israel, in hopes of provoking a strong Israeli response and then crying to the world about the resulting destruction and loss of life -- which they provoked. You might also protest against the wretched conditions in the refugee camps -- which are maintained not by the Israelis, but by the Palestinians themselves, in order to 1) use the inhabitants as propaganda pawns and 2) to recruit the inhabitants as cannon fodder -- they'll be the ones doing the dying, not the Hamas leadership.

If you are implying that Israel did this to the Palestinians, then please explain exactly how the Israelis "put them in refugee camps." There ARE NO refugee camps in Israel or in West Bank areas under Israeli control! All of the wretched refugee camps full of Palestinians are in Egypt, Jordan, Lebanon, Syria, Gaza and those parts of the West Bank under PA control. Last I looked, the Israelis do not govern those areas -- the Palestinians' own Arab so-called "brothers" do. After World War II, about 10 million war refugees were in Displaced Person (refugee) camps in Europe. By 1950, they had all been resettled and the camps were closed. After the 1948-49 war, about 750,000 Arab refugees were in camps, and a roughly equal number of Jewish refugees driven from Arab countries due to anti-Semitism. Within a few years, Israel, with far less land and far less money than the Arabs (who have 2/3 of the world's known oil and thus, vast riches) had resettled all the Jews, but 60 years later, there are now 5 million Arab refugees. The Arab despots prefer to keep the camps open and let the people there suffer to make propaganda and to recruit terrorist cannon fodder to throw against Israel.

Too busy plotting the next "martyrdom operation" (i.e., terrorist bombing) -- which is not to be confused with any kind of legitimate medical operation.
Of course, they are only following in the footsteps of such well known Arab terrorists (who were also medical doctors by training but who obviously had no use for the Hipporactic Oath's commend to physicians to "first, do no harm") as Dr. George Habash (headed the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine (PFLP), which considered Arafat;s PLO to be not radical enough); Dr. Waddi Haddad (PFLP operative, organized airplane hijackings including the Air France plane taken to Entebbe), and Dr. Abdel Aziz al-Rantissi (co-founder with Sheik Yassin of Hamas), all of whom are thankfully now dead. Add to that list Major Dr. Nidal Hassan, the Fort Hood Army psychiatrist-turned- terrorist shooter, and Dr. Bashir Assad, who succeeded his father Hafez al-Assad (thankfully dead) as the Dictator of Syria

Look, of course it is hardly news that Israel, the nice, friendly, human loving, democratic country is doing its part, Israel is just doing what the well informed people of the world expect Israel to do, if a great country acts like a great country it would be news. Just saw a Dutch paper in the supermarket with on the front page an article on the Dutch rescue workers in Haiti, telling that they were shifting from searching for survivors to finding the dead bodies of Dutch citizens, and that an Israeli team was helping them to identify their dead. What more do you want? This is a disaster, not the world expo of rescue teams...

israel is doing the right thing but what happened with gaza.and some of the arab countries did donate like saudi arabia which donated 50,000,000.aid comes in different ways and haiti needs whatever help they can get.and whos bright idea was it to compare israel and the arab countries.obviously its gonna cause more conflict.and after seeing all the comments thats what it looks like.its acts like this that lead to terrible wars and massacres, so lets all just hold hands sing and take a walk in the park.
