The beautiful part about this is that they are doing this with the full knowledge that it will not benefit them even for one second in the world’s eyes…

I was amazed to see that CNN was reporting anything positive on Israel so I went to their website where I saw the clip you show above. They are so grudging that instead of writing a title like “Israel a hero” or “Israel operating most sophisitcated hospital in Haiti” they just write the vague “infections out of control”. only if you watch the video do you get to see the wonderful work Israel is doing in order to save lives. Shame on you CNN!

\Wow, Israel so proud of you! CNN says U.S. not Israel has the most sophisticated field hospital in Haiti to save the Haitians! What a video! The CNN reporter remarked that Israelis came from the other side of the world. And someone interview said, not even the American’s set up a field hospital in Haiti! The CNN reporter was so overwhelmed in this video – she says she is just amazed,.saying this is like another world (about the Israeli field hospital in Haiti) – and remarked that Israel has imaging machines, actual operating rooms, ventilator, etc. Someone else interviewed on this CNN video said she has been in Haiti since Thursday (4 days earlier) said, “no one except the Israeli hospital has taken any of our patients.”

    An American interviewed on this CNN video also said that it makes you almost embarrassed to be an American – because of all the great work Israel is doing with their extraordinary field hospital and there is not even an American one!;

World are you listening? And the UN, that has a history of being anti-Israel – no nation in the world is doing this extraordinary work as Israelis, the IDF, the Israeli army is doing in Haiti with their field hospital. Plus other rescue missions they are doing there is awesome, saving many lives. And Israel is doing this for a people that is not Israeli, not Jewish., coming from the other side of the world! A lot of credit also due to other organizations and individuals from Israel who came to save lives in Haiti, including members of the organization Zaka and Hatzalah, who left their families and risking their lives, digging for surviors under rubble, to help people other than their own.

    According to wikipedia:
On January 13, 2010, the USNS Comfort Hospital Ship was ordered to assist in the humanitarian relief efforts following the 2010 Haiti earthquake. Three days later on January 16 the Comfort left the Port of Baltimore bound for Haiti. It is scheduled to arrive Wednesday, January 20, 2010. The death toll is estimated to be 70,000 and rising.

Israel is from the smallest of countries in the world, and yet they have close to 200 Israeli’s working aggressively to save and preserve lives in Haiti!. They have a full staff of surgeons, pediatricians, internal physicians, and emergency medicine physicians working round-the-clock!

Yosher Koach to two veteran Hatzolah Paramedics, Shlomo Zakheim (Flatbush Division), & Eli Rowe (Queens Division), who made the trip to Haiti, and are working at Israel’s field hospital in Haiti, assisting patients with a multitude of injuries.

In a short amount of time, an incredible amount of equipment was brought in by Israel, everything from incubators (for premature births), to a full-blown ICU, an O.R They even came with a Rabbi and Shul so they can daven with a Minyan and say Kaddish.

Is the world listening and watching? United Nations, wake up! Before you pass another resolution against, Israel, remember what Israel has done to help others in need. Perhaps your sisters and brothers will one day need Israel’s help as well!!!

I am sure the US Army’s field hospitals would have arrived sooner if they all had not been deployed already in Iraq and Afganistan.

The US Government is not set up for operations like this like the Israeli Army is. That is what the Red Cross and the other Non Profits are organized for. The real question is where is the Red Cross and the Red Crescent? They are asleep.

Also, did you see the report that the US volunteer doctors went to Haiti’s hospital and found only old and rusty medical equipment and few supplies? Where has all the US Government aid gone? What has Bill Clinton’s Foundation done all these years in Haiti? Did they never go to the hospital and ask if they could purchase new equipment or supplies? Something smells rotten. The answers to all these questions will reveal the truth that billions of dollars have been stolen.

How fitting on Martin Luther King day when we remember his speach where he yearned for the day that all people regardless of color or religion would hold hands with each other in brotherhood. Would that we would all care for each other even in times when there are no catastrophes. Perhaps this shows us the human capacity for compassion and should give us hope not to be Meya’aish for Moshiach. We should be proud of the Jewish state and army being able to accomplish in so short a time what no other nation on earth could accomplish. It is a reminder to us that we are a blessed people and have special abilities instilled in us by Hashem. Hashem has given us these abilities in order to raise up the world and set an example for humanity. It is nice to see a kiddush hashem extolled by CNN.

Let me begin by saying thatwhat Israel is doing here is truly a TREMENDOUS Kiddush HaShem. This hardly unusual as Israel is ALWAYS the first in line to offer and send medical and rescue teams during these kinds of disasters, even to countries that are openly hostile to them (remember the Iran earthquake a few years ago, or the tsunami when some countries actually refused their help?)

That being said, The reporter here is being a little disingenuous in reporting that the Israeli hospital “seem(s) to be the most sophisticated as of today operating.” Maybe ON SHORE — I cannot say — but the US Navy has highly sophisticated medical facilities and operating theatres aboard the USS Carl Vinson, a Nimitz class carrier, stationed off shore, capable of performing medical procedures (like the highly publicized brain surgery performed by CNNs Sanjay Gupta) that the Israeli facility is NOT equipped to do.

    to Number 31:
I happen to know several young FRUM doctors and recent med school graduates, so I can’t imagine what you are going on about.

This report is a half truth on the overall picture. It is easy for Israel to send a 200 member team from many organizations with in its country to represent the IDF. Israeli search teams stopped rescue operations already probably because of the costs to operate per day. Now the field hospital is till open but for how long can they operate $$$? U.S. military is half stretched with 2 major wars still in progress, but managed to dispatch 5 nuclear aircraft carriers with more than 10,000 troops, over 30 helicopters, millions of tons of supplies daily. The US navy hospital ship is like the Mayo Clinic on the sea. It too has very sophisticated technologies, full surgical teams, ICU support and ability to handle thousands of patients. Once this ship gets there and is fully operational, I’m sure things will begin to roll.
IDF field hospital is very sophisticated, but it also has its limitations like only being able to handle 90 critical patients at a time. I don’t think it’s fare for anyone to criticize U.S. abilities when we have the largest presence of rescue teams, air support, logistics, man power than any other country.

When i saw that Israel had the only opeating hospitol I immediatley emailed CNN on several different addresses. i asked why whernever the Jewish community does something good they don’t cover it. The American can’t do anything rapidly in a disater even in our own countyr! Maybe I wasn’t the only one compalining. All I know is finally today they reported it. It took days for coverage. i emailed Saturday night. It made me cry when I saw the original report on the Israeli’s arrival and set up of facilities. I was so proud of Israel and my people. We should always complain when they don’t give credit due to Jewish community.

The IDF’s work in Haiti SHOULD, without any question, make world headline news as what they are doing and what they are capable of doing there is something ALL nations desperately NEED. As an American, I’m going to be very angry if the USA does not start utilizing IDF methods IMMEDIATELY for natural disasters here in the USA or elsewhere. Same goes for Israeli airport security measures. People from other countries should feel the same way and DEMAND that their countries start using Israeli know-how and technology. If the media weren’t so pathetically antisemitic, this would be happening but what’s resulting is that the world hates Israel SO MUCH that it will continue to slit its own throat (ignoring all this) in order to continue defaming and demonizing the Jewish nation. The hate against Israel is so blind and irrational. Defamers and bigots would rather demonize the Jewish people than do the right thing and help their own people. It’s disgusting.

#55 So true. Instead of looking for instruction from the Israelis who set up this amazing medical operation in a soccer field, those who could benefit from the instruction are instead looking away to preserve their pride and antisemitism. The US has the resources to set up many similar field hospitals in Haiti and as quickly as the Israeli’s did, if they would only go and ask how to do it!!

How long before the State Dep’t demands that Israel pull out of “occupied” lands in Haiti? Soon Rahm Emanuel will castigate Israel for “construction” (medical tent) in disputed Haitian land? How long before Obama apologizes to the Muslim World for Israel’s insensitivity in being the first to set up a field hospital? How long before Jimma Carter pens a new tome “Israeli Apartheid in Haiti”?

When people are in trouble, Jew or non-Jew, Israel is always there. What is most revealing is that despite the bazillions of dollars of oil moneys, Saudi Arabia, UAE, Kuwait, and most other Muslim countries are not there. We should be proud that Israel is indeed a light unto the nations. Despite all their oil, not a drop do Muslim countries offer to light any lamp.

Where Is The Muslim Aid To Haiti?
