Obama says both parties have been unwilling to make the bold gestures needed to move the process forward. If the U.S. had anticipated that earlier, Obama says he might not have raised his expectations so high.

Obama says the U.S. will continue to work toward a two-state solution in which Israel is secure and the Palestinians have sovereignty. His remarks came in an interview with Time Magazine published Thursday.

Obama is a tippish, if not an out and out idiot. Israel would do well to wait for the next president, since they will get nowhere with this one.

Pres. Obama, please remember that you are President of the U. S., You may make suggestions to another country or to its Prime Minister, but you cannot do it in a one-sided manner as you have in the past, otherwise all your suggestions will fall on deaf ears. I hope VIN posts this.

Riiiiiight. Kicking our own people out of their homes and giving back a ton of land (which is now a just closer point for them to shoot rockets from) a few years back is not a bold move.. Makes Sense..

Remember the saying “people who live in glass houses shouldn’t throw stones” – Mr. President – get your house in order first!

If there was a rationale for the Gaza withdrawal, it was as a bold gesture to break the logjam. Unfortunately, President Obama has a short memory.

Hey, didn’t Israel pull out of Gaza and now it’s run by the Iranian Hamas Mafia? Remember that small detail? And remember all the towns that were bulldozed in Yesha? These are no small details my friends. They were made in good faith and you know what, if the Palestinaians had said thank you and built something good on it and were well behaved most people would have said it was worth it, including me. Not anymore. Sad, but it’s not Israel’s doing. That’s reality.

Since Oslo we have learned the hard way that “bold gestures” mean absolutely nothing. The only geture that counts is if the Arabs were sincere in making peace with Israel, everything else is childtalk.

To the above comments: It’s sickening to constantly read such childish comments that Obama is a tippish, an idiot, a Muslim, and he should show his birth certificate. If he is all of the above and still he came to the conclusion that he overestimated his ability to persuade the Israelis and Palestinians to resume meaningful peace talks, then he has come a long way. He now knows (although he won’t say it) who doesn’t want peace. Why wait for a new president who will again have to learn the hard way that the Arabs don’t want peace? Why put us again through hell? Ask Bibi how much headache he got trying to persuade again and again a new team of wishful thinkers who thought that they have the key to peace, and that is to force Israel into dangerous concessions.

    Mr. President,
Finally an honest introspection. Your naivety in matters that have stymied every President for the past 60 years have now finally made you see that this is a bigger fight then even you can fix. The Israelis have made gesture after gesture including the Gaza disengagement and most recently a construction n freeze in Yesha. This freeze was done to placate you. What has been received on the other end has been continued rockets attacks and the murder of our people. Rabbi Chai’s blood is on your hands. The roadblock that was dismantled at your incessant urging directly led to the killing of an innocent man on his way to buy sweets for his child’s birthday. There was no condemnation from Abbas. Where was your outrage? The clock is ticking on your presidency. Your health care debacle is about to be dismantled and your administration has very little to show for itself except long winded speeches and unrealized promises. Israel has proven time and again that they are our ally. To please America they put the safety and security of their citizens at perilous risk. You do not appreciate it. The Arabs pounce on it and Jewish children die What kind of peace is that?

    To Charlie Hall, #19
In 1956 Egypt got huge supply of russian weapons and was ready to attack Israel. Please learn that by that time, since 1953, Israeli navigation in Red Sea was shot down due to Egyptian blockade of Straits of Tiran, which by international rules is an act of war. For 3 years Israeli ships had to travel all the way around Africa to reach Asia. The same tactics was employed by Egypt prior to 1967 war.
1982 Lebanon invasion was direct reaction to increasing cross-border terrorist attackas against Israel and PLO attempt to murder an Israeli Amabassador to London.
CITIZENS of Israel enjoy equal rights. Perhaps Israeli Arabs have even more rights because they don’t have a duty to serve. Non citizens have the same or more righs as non citizens in any other country.
Too bad you don’t see that Obama’s policy of appeasement endangers the entire free world, not just Israel.
