Albany, NY - David Paterson Refuses To Answer If He'll Be Gov. Monday |
|
Security whisk away Gov. Paterson not answering if He’ll be the Gov. coming MondayAlbany, NY - Gov. David A. Paterson will be governor on Friday. After that? He will not say.
As Mr. Paterson ducked out of a side entrance to the Yale Club in Midtown Manhattan on Thursday afternoon, he offered a simple “yes” when asked if he would still be governor on Friday.
But when asked whether he would be governor next week, the governor was silent. He ignored other questions posed by a group of reporters who trailed him as a small coterie of his aides hustled him into a waiting Chevrolet Suburban.
The vehicle then drove off, heading east on 44th Street.
Mr. Paterson was at the Yale Club on Thursday having lunch in the rooftop dining room with former Mayor David N. Dinkins and a 13-year-old boy who is blind.
Mr. Dinkins said as he was leaving the club that he does not believe Mr. Paterson should resign. “What’s to be served by trying to force him from office now?”
Outside the Yale Club’s rarefied air, however, it was another day of difficult news for the governor.

The reason why he refuses to answer is because if he says yesterday they will find another stupid thing if he says no then he'll be tomorrow front cover of anything I personally think he has no clue

Getting someone who can govern effectively and address the state's budget issues -- things that Paterson cannot do.

I'm with Dinkins on this one. I think we need to pay more attention to second in command people. They can become first in command in the blink of an eye.
I think that he is being set up by people with their own agenda. I'm not drinking the koolaid they're serving.

I am wondering why anyone reckons with Dinkins. He was, by far, the worst mayor in NYC in our memorable history. Why should I care what he thinks about anything political? The fact is that Dinkins is irrelevant, and there seem to be many who think that Patterson is, too.

Compared to him, Dinkins was a winner, and that's pretty bad. Actually, now that I think about it, I remember Dinkins had his own funny check business

He is no worse than any other scumbag who could take that place. spitzer was no better. This guy was democratically voted & legaly got his place.
Other politicians want him out, he can't break the broken, he will stay until next election. If i were him I would not buckle to this crusade & resign. Obamba is also no longer popular, he isn't resigning.
Leave this guy alone, let him get on, he is the same trash as all the other politicians, justa different color.

NYC Jews have been making a big mistake by changing party affiliation from Democratic to Republican because, by so doing, they have been leaving the winners in the Democratic primary races to the Al Sharpton wing of the party. In NYC, where the primary races are mostly in the Democratic party, it makes sense to be enrolled as a Democrat so as to more effectively participate in the primary races. Later on, come Election Day in November, one can vote for whomever the voter wants, Democrat, Republican, or whatever. Every time a Jew switches from Democrat to Republican, Al Sharpton smiles inside because he has beaten another Jew in the saychel department.

Aside from the negative memory of the Crown Heights riots, Dinkins's legacy has something in its favor. He brought to us recycling of paper and metal and that makes him a true friend of the environment. Think of how many newspapers that we throw out winds up as toilet paper and saves us more living trees to grab up the carbon dioxide and give us more oxygen and think of how many of those metal cans that we throw into recycling cans winds up as part of a plane or a tank or a gun that gets sold to the IDF. Compare that with Giuliani's philosophy on the environment, which he expressed in St. Paul during the Republican convention of 2008: "Drill, baby, drill!":

Good posting and oh so correct. I really think the folks of color can't get past the issue that they had one of their own at the top and he blew it all because he is stupid. Dinkins is another example of a good chance for a man of color to excell and he also was a disaster. The so called leaders of the black community can't move past the fact that their own have screwed up and continue to defend them only on the weak basis of color alone. If that isn't racism then was is? Except for the most hard core bigots there probably are not many people left in America who would not be thrilled to see a person of color succeed...but only if the success was based on proformance and not color alone.
