Brooklyn, NY - Noted Beloved Charedi Music Composer Passes Away

Brooklyn, NY - Rabbi Moshe Zvi Goldman the famous Charedi beloved music composer from Bobov passed away early this morning at the age of 58, after years of suffering of a serious illness.

Rabbi Moshe who was famous during his lifetime, composed hundreds of songs and melodies, and stood behind the production of dozens of music albums in various series, his poems are sung in every religious Jewish home.

A few months ago he released his latest album - ‘Firewall’ .

The Levay’a will be held today 9:30 am in front of Bobov shul in Borough Park on 48th Street.

yes, he had a massive stroke a couple years ago, but he was getting better. Last night he was still home and a couple of people were scheduled to go over to his house to sing with him & be him mechazek, but at 9:30 they got a phone call that he's not feeling well and he will be going to sleep early.

Reb Moshe Goldman recounted, that in the studio while a non-Jew was "mixing" (a process in producing an album) the song 'Elokei Neshomo' (a morning prayer where we thank G-d for giving us back our soul), he was crying. Then he told Reb Moshe A"H: I don't understand a word of what you are singing but it touched my heart.

As a personal friend , who was very close to R' Moshe Goldman Z'L, I am broken and saddend by his Petira, he was famous across the world for his thousands of niggunim that he composed and are sung in every Yiddishe home and thru his songs he brought us all closer to Hashem. I owe a Yasher Koach to the niftar. R' Moshe's son was my son's rebbe five years ago. He has left such an indelible impression on my son, that my son is always referring back to him. Based on all the comments I am reading here it seems that Rabbi Goldman is a true product of the home that raised him. I am grateful that my son has a part in this. Yup, his son C Y is working on his fathers u"h nigunim (for the last ten years already), and by the way, on the next Camp Shalva album will be iy"h a beautifull long song, made about 30 years ago on the words non other than Hashkevinu Hashen Eloikenu Leshuloim!

reb moshe suffered tremendous yisirim but one thing we can all learn and try to emulate no matter how much pain he was in he never complained, never made those surrounding him feel down, if anything he always had a kind uplifting word to share. very few people can go thru as much as he did and still stay upbeat...we should follow in his tremendous footsteps.
