Brooklyn, NY - NYC Comptroller Endorses Joe Lazar For City Council |
|

Brooklyn, NY - City Comptroller John C. Liu endorsed Joe Lazar today in the Special Election for Brooklyn’s 44th Councilmanic District.
Comptroller Liu praised Joe Lazar for his fiscal expertise and integrity. “We need leaders in the City Council who will represent the concerns and interests of the community during this economic downturn. For many years this community has been well represented and the tradition must continue. And Joe Lazar is the best person for the job,” said Liu. “Joe shares my commitment to ensuring that in this time of such fiscal austerity, government must be more resilient – and creative – to rise to the challenge of doing so much more with so much less. With his budget experience, Joe will know where to find the waste in City government and how best to save resources for New York City taxpayers. I look forward to working closely with Joe as my colleague in government to serve our community with integrity and pride.”
“I am deeply honored to receive the endorsement of our great City Comptroller, John Liu,” said Joe Lazar. “John’s historic victory confirms for me the great opportunities this City affords to immigrants who work and live in our neighborhoods and those just arriving to the City. The people of New York City put their trust in Comptroller Liu last November to lead us through these challenging times. I am proud that John believes I will be a strong ally in the fight to protect our community’s essential services.”
“For many years, I have had the privilege of working with immigrants and new Americans and witnessed firsthand what can be accomplished when we work together with our common interests and values,” Lazar continued. “I, like the Comptroller, believe that education is a key to our children’s success, which is why I have supported bi-lingual education and ESL programs to help immigrant children and adults get on the right track to attaining their American dream. I look forward to working with John to strengthening these programs in the City Council.”

It is quite clear that the only choice we, the residents of Boro Park have, is to elect Joe Lazar to the City Council. He is without a doubt much more qualified than David Greenfield. Go Joe Go. Alleh V'Hatzlach.

So if John Liu endorsed Lazar, it must be at the behest and with the blessing of Simcha Felder — even though he doesn’t want to get directly involved in endorsements.

Bobov came out strong today. So it looks like the race is over. But greenfield might try to use desperate dirty tactics in the coming days.

What happened to Lazar's yarmulka! It seems to get smaller and smaller...or did the wind blow it off. Strange , when he visits Rabbonim he wears a hat.
This shows a lot about a person.
No, one shouldn't judge by the cover but he should listen to the music!
Is he ashamed of his heritage?

This race is over my friends! Lazar has it in his pocket, unless Greenfield pulls a dirty trick & knocks Lazar of the ballot at the last second. I say someone should challenge Greenfield's signatures in court, but Joe's to big of a Mentch!

Joe has worn the same size yarmulka for the last 40+ years. He is not the one who suddenly grew a beard and found his hat when he decided to run in this race.

Bobov is far from the most powerfull chasidus these days.

It's not Chassidus that counts today, it's what's in the pocket.
The the idea is where there are the most "full pockets" who may need a favor in return.
There was a big askan in a certain Chassidus who used to donate very generously. He was included in all meetings.
His fortune changed and suddenly he wasn't part of the kehilla. No money to donate, so he was no longer included in the meetings of the kehilla.
B"H his mazal returned for the better and suddenly the phones rang agains so he told them you don't need me but my wallet!
A Chassidus should be busy with helping their Chassidim with such as shidduchim, jobs, shalom bayis and not narishkeiten as this type of election!!
We are part of a Chassidus who just made a wedding. My husband gives loans and donates. I did not attend because of illness. If you think anyone noticed i wasn't there, you have a mistake. So don't expect anything from people. All is up to Hashem.
