New York, NY - Former City Councilman David Yassky has been tapped to head the Taxi and Limousine Commission, Mayor Bloomberg announced today.
Yassky will replace current chief Matt Daus, who is going to the private sector.
During his time on council, Yassky spearheaded the Mayor’s initiative to make every cab greener and get more miles-per-gallon. The measure sparked a legal battle between taxi owners and the city.
