West Palm Beach, FL - Something stinks at Palm Beach International Airport.

And apparently it’s the no-shoes rule through security gates.

The county airports director said at an advisory board meeting Wednesday security personnel “are complaining of odor” in the area and requested a change.

Flight delays often mean a shorter window than the airport’s regular 4:30 a.m. to 10 p.m. hours provide, meaning new carpet might be a better more feasible than a good shampooing.

The county is already replacing much of the terminal tile and carpet, but nothing was immediately promised for the stinky security area.

Given that taking off shoes does not increase security, it would be nice if the requirement was just dropped.

Or, we should be forced to take off our underpants/panties. After all, the shoe bomber never made it onto a plane, but the underwear bomber did.

There is no sense or logic in the TSA. It is a terror organization.

Yes, but with the body scanner, there will be a much larger "shtink" problem, especially on hot summer days, since its now the whole body and not just the feet.

Apparently the scanners the TSA plans on using do not require the passengers to remove all their clothes. Its like an MRI and you can keep your clothes on.

Richard REid was on a plane to the us or in the us and try to light his shoe bomb in flight and was beaten and held till safe landing so you truly are talking NONSENSE

I have either become blind or senile. I travel in and out of West Palm airport and there is NO CARPET in the area where you take off your shoes.

How come when in Israel we don't have these shoe problems. We don't take off belts or shoes or underwear. Only stupid TSA.
