Plaszow, Poland - Polish media say vandals have sprayed anti-Semitic graffiti on a Holocaust memorial at a former Nazi concentration camp.

Words including “Jude Raus” — German for “Jew Out” — and “Hitler Good,” in English, were found in red paint Saturday at the former Plaszow camp near Krakow. The vandalism was discovered a day before a planned memorial march marking the 67th anniversary of the liquidation of Krakow’s ghetto.

On March 13, 1943, German soldiers started a two-day action in which they emptied Krakow’s ghetto of its estimated 16,000 Jewish residents, shipping them to Plaszow and to the Auschwitz-Birkenau death camp.

The news agency PAP quoted a police official, Anna Zbroja, as saying authorities are on the spot trying to determine when the vandalism occurred.

Just this friday I loaned a book from the library by joseph blau about the plaszow concentration camp and i finished reading it this afternoon. Then I turn on the computer on motzei shabbos and see this in the news - this is very creepy coincidence indeed.

The book is not for the faint hearted but extremely well written about the history of the krakow ghetto and this camp.

Or France, Italy, Spain, Portugal, England, etc....

Also, this happened in Poland, not Austria or Germany.

no I am not a former camp inmate I am a young woman who only finds time to get into reading on shabbos (too busy all week) I like autobiographies and you may be right to some degree - not exactly oneg shabbos - but was still a way of sitting her tonight in this noreaster and saying "this is nothing" compared to what people had to go thorugh in the war - nothing matters in our spoiled life in comparison

Jews should not go to Poland on all these trips to the Kevarim and spend all that money in Poland. Perhaps if those Pollacks will not see any Jews in Poland roving around they will forget us and there will be less vandalism. It really makes me sick every time I see in the newspapers those advertisements about these trips. Let them say Thelim at home it should be just as good.
