Washington - Weiner: Enough Already, White House Should Stop 'temper tantrum' on Israel |

Washington - New York Rep. Anthony Weiner is adding his voice to the criticism of the White House’s response to an ill-timed Israeli construction decision, and in sharper terms than his colleagues.
“The appropriate response was a shake of the head – not a temper tantrum,” Weiner said in a statement to be released shortly. “Israel is a sovereign nation and an ally, not a punching bag. Enough already.”

Good for Weiner. Where is Schumer, who is generally the loudest voice in the room? Why is he silent? It is long been obvious who our friends are. Schumer is not one of them.

One must be silly not to see what's been going on. The Administration is not that upset about the whole incident, they're just using it as an opportunity to get the Israelis to comply with their demands. I happen to agree with that method. Israel, and especially Bibi, have been showing a lot of chutzpah towards the Obama administration. Most of us know how politics work in Israel, this was no "ill-timed" announchment, it was well planned. If you really want peace in Israel, then you have to force the Israelis hand. They've been getting a pass for way too long! The way I see this is "tough love". Israel is and always will be our strongest ally regardless of who's president.

Get over it. Schumer is not working for AIPAC, Kneset, or State of Israel. He is a member of the U.S. Senate who has been elected by New Yorkers to represent them not any specific ethnic groups with special interests. If he doesn't want to comment on foreign policy matters involving the White House then it's his choice. He doesn't owe anyone anything outside making sure that New York is represented well.

Obama is behaving like Chaves does, like a dictator. He is trying to force his agendas on the United States and the entire world, i.e.
1) Health Care
2) Iran/Syria/Palestinians/Islam
I will not be surprised if it will one day come out in the open that he was a secret agent of the Al Qaeda mission to destroy America and Democracy.

At least Weiner is acknowledging the fact that Obama is declaring himself as against Israel, and include Clinton, and the rest of the clowns. We must have a backlash to this at the polls, and make 2010 the year that the Senate and House lose many Democratric seats. One (Massachusetts) is not enough.

I didn't know that Obama was Bibi's father or rebbe. Bibi can no more be chutzpadik to Obama than you can to me or, come to that, Obama to Bibi.
They are both doing the same thing. Playing to their own audience and adhering to Alexander's (the Great) famous dictum. In a war it is necessary to ascertain that your own people are on your side not your enemy's people. The main purpose of propaganda is for home consumption.

Funny Mr. Schumer spends all my tax dollars roaming around the world. The Senator considers himsefl an expert on foreign affairs. As such, I expect him to stongly defend our only true ally in the Middle East and ttake exception to Obama(I voted for him what a msitake) and his policuies. If Mr Schumer does not, I do not plan to vote for him in the primaries nor in a general election should he win the primaries.

As an American who has always supported Israel, I'm on Hillary's side this time. Israel is playing the dangerous game of forcing Americans to choose sides with the Israeli position, or America's. The longer this goes on, the more Americans will turn against Israel. Don't you dare test our patriotism. You'll lose.

Schumer doesn't have to speak out. According to Schumer all he needs to do is stand on stage with Michael Miller and Malcolm Hoenlein and chant "Am Yisrael Chai" every few months at a rally. That is his support and that is all you're going to get out of him. His job is to get Democrats elected to the Senate. He will not go against anything the President says, period. Don't worry though, he'll be at the next rally wearing a fake smile and waving his hands... and people will keep voting for him.

The Israeli media is reporting that a top terrorist meeting took place in Damascus, and these modern day Hamans are calling for a third intifada. If we negotiate with them, we'll only get into a worse mess. We need to inform the terrorist groups that every riot or attempt will result in the martyrdom of any Muslims involved. If they want this number to be high, that will be their choice.

What does patriotism have to do with any of this? I'm a loyal patriotic American who also supports Isarael. I'm a patriotic American who also disagrees with the position of this administration. So that makes me unpatriotic? Why is it when it comes to Israel , patriotism is always mentioned?

No , it's not his choice. He was elected not appointed. He's always running around to bar-mitzvahs, yeshiva graduations , shul functions , etc . looking for the Jewish vote. He represents me and millions like me. If he's afraid to challenge the Democrats when his people are being bullied , then we'll throw the bum out in a few years.

Whenever they celebrate MLK's birthday in church, we can always find Weiner on the same platform with Sharpton, Sharpton is the opposite of everything MLK stood for, so why does Weiner find it necessary to participate in this farce? Answer: Like Schumer, he is looking for an opportunity to kiss Sharpton's ring.

News flash: Schumer is running for reelection in 2010. But the Republicans have a problem here. Senator Gillibrand, a Democrat who is completing Hillary Clinton's term, is also running for election and her likely opponent will be Rep. Peter King, a Republican who has a good chance of winning. But the Republicans have no other big names to go against Schumer. Maybe someone can suggest the name of a Republican to run against Schumer. .
