Moscow, Russia – Israeli Prime Minister called Secretary of State Hillary Clinton late today, finally providing a response to their nearly 45 minute conversation last Friday, according to a US official. Clinton is currently in Moscow where she will attend a meeting of the so-called “Quartet” of Middle East peace mediators – the US, EU, UN, and Russia – on Friday.

Details of the call are few, the call happened “not long ago,” according to the source, but the official said that the two discussed “specific actions” that Israel can take “to improve the atmosphere.” The US is said to “taking stock” of this latest call, to which there was no immediate response from either the State Department or the Israeli Embassy in DC.
It remains unclear whether Israel will agree to Clinton’s demand that it reverse announcement to build 1,600 housing units in East Jerusalem, which sparked the diplomatic row last week.
US Mideast peace envoy George Mitchell will travel to the region to meet with Israeli and Palestinian officials, the US official said.
In addition, Clinton and Netanyahu will likely meet in person when the Prime Minister is in Washington to address the American Israel Public Affairs Committee’s influential annual policy conference.

israel will always have to answer to america as long as it will receive money from the u.s. yes very true the “crutch” of american money is very helpful and used very well as well as the friendship of the united states has been very helpful in the past. the question is can isreal survive without the money and is it possible for isreal to try and make that money or get it from a different source .and then lastly let’s say isreal does stop getting money from the united states . will isreal still contuine to get orders from the u.s. on wat to do and not do.
