Brooklyn, NY – Dov Hikind And David Greenfield Join Forces To Benefit Their Constituents

    14

Brooklyn, NY – Newly elected City Council member David Greenfield and New York State Assemblyman Dov Hikind have seemingly put the past behind them as they announced today a joint press conference, to be held on Wednesday, April 7th, at the Boro Park YM-YWHA on 14th Avenue. Both Hikind and Greenfield are expected to fill out their census forms at the time, encouraging others to do the same. As the census determines both the number of Congressional seats allotted to each state, in addition to allocating federal funding to different areas, it is imperative that every resident fill out their census form, which the city estimates brings $3,000 worth of funding to the city for every form filed.

Most importantly, after a heated and contentious City Council race in Brooklyn’s 44th district, where Hikind came out strongly in favor of Greenfield’s opponent, Joe Lazar, the press conference signals a new beginning between Hikind and Greenfield who have united behind the common goal of working together to do their best for Brooklyn’s Jewish community.

In an interview with VIN News, Hikind said, “I have spoken to David a few times since he won the election. We are both committed to making the residents of Brooklyn our number one priority and I look forward to meeting with him after Pesach and working with him to ensure that our community gets everything it both needs and deserves.”

Similarly, David Greenfield told VIN News, “Now that the election is over it is time for all of us to come together and work for the best interests of the community. I intend to work with Assemblyman Hikind on behalf of the community.

Just like the old times when Hikind asked Greenfield to be his chief of staff…

I work at one of those organizations that supported Joe Lazar. My boss told me that Greenfield already reached out to set up a meeting and see how we can work together. Honestly, I’m embarrassed that we did not support him. Greenfield is a real mensch.

Mr. Greenfield is smart to forge a relationship with Dov Hikind. I love the new energy Mr. Greenfield brings to the community, and i am sure he will do well. At the same time, Mr. Hikind has been at the forefront with resolving community issues for a very long time. Mr. Hikind’s experience, power, smarts, and most of all his sincerity will only shine through Mr. Greenfields actions, and together they will set examples for other community leaders to follow.
