Valletta, Malta – The Roman Catholic church in Malta condemned the vandalism carried out early Saturday on billboards promoting the pope’s upcoming visit to the Mediterranean island.

One billboard on a busy road in Malta portrayed the pope’s face with a Hitler-style moustache, along with stencilled signs of paedophilia.
The pope, who is due to visit the island on April 17-18 is German and in his youth was conscripted into the German forces in the closing stages of the war.
In a statement, the Maltese church said: “It appears that these acts of vandalism were made by elements who, for their own reasons, decided that they are in a position to judge.”
The church said these actions did not respect the sentiments of the people.
Though Pope Benedict XVI is expected to receive a warm welcome in staunchly Catholic Malta, there is clear unease among many inhabitants in the wake of the child abuse scandals which have rocked the Catholic church.

Other billboards have been “enhanced” with images of pedobear – an Internet character representing pedophiles.

I think its hilarious, of course they don’t condone the moustache hahaha, the pope is like God to them. Anything the Catholic church does or any mistake is covered up because the pope can’t possibly make a mistake. At every turn they lie and deceive the people to keep them in bondage to the catholic church. They just about worship Mary and they think she was immaculately conceived and then didn’t die. Just this last week you could pay to have a priest bless your pet, for a small fee. Last time I checked you didn’t need a priests blessing for you pet but they do need your money so its a good scam to get people to hand over more money.
