Bnei Brak - Charedim Demonstrate, Try to Burn Flags |

Anti-Zionist Ultra Orthodox Jewish men attend a demonstration against the current celebrations for the 62nd anniversary of Israel's creation on April 20, 2010 in Beit Shemesh. Israel celebrates its 62 birthday, since the sate was declared in 1948. Photo by Kobi Gideon / FLASH90. Bnei Brak - While the State of Israel celebrates 62 years of independence, hundreds of Haredi demonstrators took to the streets Tuesday afternoon in Bnei Brak, clashing with police who tried to prevent them from burning Israeli flags.
The demonstrators blocked off a main road and threw stones at a patrol car, which was damaged. No injuries were reported.
Meanwhile, a group of Neturei Karta demonstrators in Beit Shemesh burned flags during a demonstration against the State.
Recently, there have been a number of Haredi demonstrations, particularly by the anti-Zionist sect Neturei Karta. (As was reported here on VIN News,) On Monday, the police submitted an indictment against young Haredi man Yehiel Hazan (20), from Jerusalem, who burned an Israeli flag. He was arrested by an undercover police officer who was disguised as a Haredi man.

Flag burners are not Haredi. They certainly have no fear of G-d. They may be dressed to look "Haredi". Pork can also be served Kosher style.

Answer to Alex, We will stop considering them Jewish when they cease to obey the Toreh! When they Chas Veshuloim begin to be Mechalel Shabbos stop putting on Tefillin, eat not Kosher, and behave immoral, then we will stop considering them Jewish! Until then we might think (as I do) that they are nutty but Jews they are!!! And they have a right to their opinion just like you and I have.

So then we can now officially consider them not Jewish according to your rules.
They are mechalel Shabbos all the time by their stone throwing, by their attending demonstrations with Palestinians and Iranians on Shabbos. They have been known to travel on Shabbos to attend them. So spare us your defense of them.

The Israeli Police and Army should have water cannons used on these chayas when they put the lives of innocent people in jeopardy by placing with fire. Wouldn't it be a shame if their peyos and beards caught on fire while they burned a flag?

Do you have any evidence that they're endangering anyone? Or do you think the police should use water cannons on all the hundreds of thousands who are barbecuing in the parks today? If they do so only on flag-burners, then their actions are clearly aimed at the expressive speech and not at the fire, and that is censorship.

Millhouse, what's with you I thought you were smarter. Now I checked out a different post from a day ago also about flag burning and you mention that Israel was given as a sliver for the Jews because they were didn't chap the chance to take the geulah. It's childish to believe that. When Hashem will send Moshiach HE WILL SEND MOSHIACH! No sliver this or that.
Zionism is not ideal. NK's are not ideal. We're waiting for the geulah and are not chanfening our enemies while we're waiting.

This is what the Lubavitcher Rebbe said in 1948 (he was not yet rebbe). And I heard that the Satmar Rebbe said the same thing. I think they were both smart enough.
(People think the LR was a zionist. Nothing could be further from the truth. Throughout the years he consistently called the medinah a "choshech koful umchupol". His only difference with Satmar was on how to deal with the reality that it does exist. See also Rav Henkin's letter after the medinah was established, making it clear that he had not changed his shitah, but the metzius had changed.)

Another person who can't translate simple Aramish. Assuming for the moment that DdMD applies, what has it got to do with anything? Where in those words do you see any prohibition on breaking the law? Do you imagine DdMD means that the entire corpus of state and local law is incorporated by reference into Shulchon Oruch?!

The vast majority of Anti-Zionists allow their followers to take public assistance for their private needs. They just prohibit the mosdos from taking money from the gov't.
The mosdos also take government money because with lomdus the parents take money for private needs and it then gets funneled to the Holy mosod through either sham mosod or a legitimate Agudah mosod that takes a cut.
Do you really think that thousands of people survive without a job , ten dependents, private schooling and no government money?

Listen Millhouse, I grew up with the Satmere and I know their shitta. Their shitta is not that Zionism is a sliver of what Hashem gave us instead of Moshiach. Their shitta is that Zionism is a farblendenish from the yetzer hora. It is kulo yetzer hora. That is their shitta.
About the Lubavitzer Rebbe I can't comment what he did or didn't comment. But one thing I can tell you, the Lubavitzers are mostly pro-Israel and were what you were saying the truth, their hashkafos lagabah Israel would not be the same.
In any case, as I have mentioned before chanfening to all those who would tear your neck apart would they be given a chance is ussar, ussar and ussar again. Just because not every single one of the NK's traveled to Gaza for Shabbos or to visit Iran does not mean they don't support them. They do believe that that is the right thing to do. Standing with the murderers of our people at demonstrations to support the bloodthirsty murderers is not ussar? And while flag burning may not be outright ussar it still is not the right thing to do. Don't you think the Chizzballah and Chamas terrorists have a huge smiles on their faces when they see this throught the media?

Making a Chillul Hashem is way worse than being Mechalel Shabbos or eating treif. Being Mechalel Shem Hashem BeFarhesia, supposedly in the name of Torah and Yiddishkeit, causes Yidden and Goyem to look at the Torah World as a bunch of ignoramous nuts. Chilul haShem? What exactly was the chilul haShem? Maybe it was davka a kiddush haShem? (I don't think it was, but the case for that is at least as easy to make as the opposite one.) Unless your definition of chilul haShem is anything that gets goyim or Jewish shkotzim upset.

Chillul Hashem is desecrating Hashem's name. To see Jew fighting Jew is desecrating Hashem's name. To see Jews supporting our enemies is chillul Hashem.
Although #42 being mechalel Shabbos and eating treif is chillul Hashem as well. It is not a bigger aveirah to desecrate Hashem's name only for the goyim. It is any act that a Jew does that is against the will of Hashem.

A Chilul Hashem is in fact when the presence of G-d is diminished by the action of a Torah observant Jew. When a frum looking Jew acts like a Behaima by burning an object held in reverance to most, he makes Yiddishkeit look bad to all, frum , non-frum and goyim. You obviously know nothing of post-WWII Jewish history.
The majority of survivors were locked in DP camps. No country would take them and going back to their home towns was asking to be killed by their Polish friends and neighbors. The Medina gave them a place to start over.

It means they paid men to sit and learn instead of going to work. There are more people learning full time in Eretz Yisroel today than at any time in history.

“ Very typical. Always respnding to sanity with a disparaging remark and a cute joke- but no words of sense. I don't find milhouse making fun of anyone. He's just saying the truth and sometimes the truth hurts. And it's not his mom. I actually served 2 years in gaza and lebanon but I still respect truth when I hear it. ”
Mrs. Milhouse - I didn't write that he makes fun of anybody. I wrote that he insults them. I suppose you'll debate the meaning of the word 'insult'.
Face it - even if he were just writing the truth - he is still an old grouchy loser who labels his opponents 'shaigetz' and questions whether they are Jewish.

“ try to burn a US flag on 4th. of July in public and see what happens ... ”
Yes, try it. You will be protected by the first amendment, and any policeman who tries to interfere with you, or who declines to protect you from criminal violence, will be subject to a Bivens lawsuit.

“ A Chilul Hashem is in fact when the presence of G-d is diminished by the action of a Torah observant Jew. When a frum looking Jew acts like a Behaima by burning an object held in reverance to most, he makes Yiddishkeit look bad to all, frum , non-frum and goyim. Yes they count, look in Dibros Moshe, Ketubot, Teshuva 1 ”
Destroying avoda zara is a kiddush haShem, no matter how many people hold it in reverence. On the contrary, the fact that an object is revered by people makes it an avoda zara, and makes it a kiddush haShem to destroy it.
Chilul haShem has nothing to do with upsetting goyim or Jewish shkotzim. Chilul haShem means doing an avera in public, so that the onlookers see how little you care for Hashem's commandments. Kiddush haShem means doing a mitzvah in public, especially under difficult circumstances, so that the onlookers see how important it is to do Hashem's will.

“ You obviously know nothing of post-WWII Jewish history.
The majority of survivors were locked in DP camps. No country would take them and going back to their home towns was asking to be killed by their Polish friends and neighbors. The Medina gave them a place to start over. ”
And yet most didn't go there, and ended up doing quite well elsewhere. Obviously the medinah was not necessary to resettle the refugees. Every refugee who settled in EY could just as easily have stayed in Europe or gone to America or Australia or South Africa, just as did all the refugees who didn't go to EY.

“ I wonder why they are living in Israel if they are opposed to the idea of people living there? I had to hide our magan David artifacts cuz one of our guest is in same Charaidim sect, destroys them when he saw them wherever he went. ”
They are obviously NOT opposed to the idea of Jews living in Eretz Yisroel. Where did you get the idea that they were?

“ So, according to you, Jews are in no way morally obligated by our religion to follow the criminal laws of the state? Interesting theory... where'd you find it? Der Sturmer? ”
That's right, and not just Jews. NOBODY is morally obligated to follow the laws of the state. How could it be otherwise? Where did the state get the moral authority to turn right into wrong or wrong into right? If something is right, how can a decree from some legislature magically make it wrong, or vice versa? That's Nazi thinking right there.

So are you threatening criminal violence to impose your opinions on others? And then you have the chutzpah to criticise others? Shame on you, you fascist.

Only when they show clear signs of not being Jewish. You will not find a single instance where I have doubted someone's Jewish status without clear cause.

No moral obligation to be a law-abiding citizen! OK, thanks. Incidentally, if anybody here was looking for a way to demonstrate that you are a complete sociopath, you just took care of that for them.

So where does this moral obligation come from, in your philosophy? Can you cite any moral philosopher, anywhere, who believes such an obligation exists? If such an obligation exists, then what was wrong with the Nazis, or right with those who resisted them? Surely you would scrupulously obey every ordinance of the lawful government, and turn in anyone who defied it.

See Mrs. Milhouse? Your son is not only rude but he is either a liar who knows the that the US, England and Canada were not accepting more than a small quota or Jews in the post-war years or he is once again offering opinions on subjects about which he is totally ignorant.
Perhaps you can explain to Junior that in 1948 there were several hundred thousand Jews (I don't have an accurate figure in front of me but I believe it was between 300,000 and 500,000) waiting in DP camps with no place to go.
I'm sure his suggestion that Europe was prepared to peacefully re-absorb it's recently evicted Jews was merely a poor attempt at humor.
Please, Mrs. Milhouse, please, don't let Junior use the keyboard unsupervised. He only stops insulting people long enough to make a fool of himself.
