Daniel Wayne Staley

Dallas, TX - A man was arrested early this morning when he was found carrying a foot stolen from a Pleasant Grove, Tiferet Israel Agudas Achim Cemetery, police said.

Daniel Wayne Staley, 18, is accused of digging up a grave and removing a foot from a body at the Pleasant Mound Cemetery in the 3100 block of Buckner Boulevard.

“I dug it up from a nearby grave and took it from a Jew girl just because I wanted a foot,” he told officers, according to a police report.

Officers were called to the scene about 3:30 a.m. by a witness at the graveyard. When police arrived, Staley approached them and showed them the foot, which he was carrying in a bag, police said.

Staley then led officers to the grave and identified the corpse, whose identity has not been released.

He was placed under arrest on a charge of theft of a human corpse/grave.
