The hawkish Fox takes a tough line on Iran’s disputed nuclear program, and is a staunch advocate of Britain’s retaining a nuclear deterrent.

Two other Conservative Party officials told the AP that Liberal Democrat leader Nick Clegg would serve as Britain’s deputy prime minister.

The officials all requested anonymity to discuss the appointments ahead of an official announcement.

The Conservatives have moderated quite a bit since the Thatcher days, and the Liberal Democrats have a lot of interesting ideas, at least on domestic policy. Unfortunately the Liberal Democrats have become anti-Israel so hopefully the cabinet seats they get will be entirely restricted to domestic issues.

Don’t worry Charlie, this shidduch won’t last very long. Just wait till some of Clegg’s leftie-libs get their teeth in the bit and realise their power and you’ll see sparks. Clegg (like Obama) is charismatic and looks good on the box but he is hardly a political heavyweight.
In England all true lefties vote Labour. The bulk of Lib-Dem votes is either “weird” lefties or protest votes and the policies they preached during the election campaign sound wonderful but in the real world just couldn’t be done.
