Marblehead, MA – A fire consumed a large wooden deck at the Jewish Community Center of North Shore and a spokesman for the Marblehead Fire Department said nothing is ruled out regarding the cause of the blaze.
Marblehead police and fire along with State Police are conducting the investigation. The investigation is focused on a hot spot where the deck joined building, neither the electrical system nor any other utility in the facility started the fire.

There are security cameras cover the entire building inside and out. “They’re everywhere,” said Penny Schuler, spokeswoman for the JCC. She would make no comment if the tapes revealed foul play.
And she said that very little disruption will be felt by members of the JCC as crews are cleaning during the scheduled closure during the holiday of Sukka’s.
No school time was lost because its a holiday for everyone, said Schuler.
With the reality of recent attacks on Jewish centers in Los Angeles and Seattle in mind, Schuler quelled local speculation that the fire was the result of a hate crime. “I can’t imagine it in happing here, this is Marblehead,” she said.
