SH of Brooklyn, was also ordered by U.S. District Judge Jose L. Linares to serve five months of home confinement.

    H. pleaded guilty in January to conspiring to help Dwek launder between $10,000 and $30,000 in purported criminal proceeds through a religious charity.

His lawyer, Charles A. Stillman, asked Linares to sentence H. to probation, saying he was a charitable father of four who had been duped by Dwek, an admitted real estate swindler whose later work as an informant led to charges against 46 people.

When he pleaded guilty, H.. also acknowledged conspiring to funnel money into the campaign account of an unnamed Union City elected official as part of an effort to gain approvals for a real estate project.

Court filings and campaign finance reports show the money went to an election campaign associated with Mayor Brian Stack. The mayor has not been charged with any wrongdoing and has declined repeated requests to discuss the matter.

Assistant U.S. Attorney Dustin Chao said H… was a “willing participant and helper in Mr. Dwek’s purported schemes.” The prosecutor asked the judge to sentence him according to the terms of his plea agreement, which called for a range of 10 to 16 months.

Shimon, we are all with you. Hashem knows the truth and sometimes good people have to suffer for the bad ones. Every day all of us pray 3 times a day laminim velamamshinim velamoserim that people like dwek should fall to the ground. Be strong, and as hard as it is let’s use this to come closer to hashem, and bezrat hasheb we will all be zoche to Mashiach bimhera beyamenu. Amen

Dwek is not yet off the hook. He will probably get a suspended sentence for all his cooperation and good work for the prosecution but he has already suffered considerable loss of reputation within the jewish community which will take a long time to repair.

He never gave one dollar of hard earned money to charity. every cent was from his lying cheating scemes. May Hashem have his way with him very soon!!!!

Drek is a sociopath, and even if he escapes US justice he will NOT escape Hashem’s justice. The US courts cannot sentence the guilty to yenna machla, ALS or flesh eating bacteria….

I am Shimon’s neighbor and a good friend of the his wife. Anyone who says that 5 months isn’t so bad is crazy. This man does not deserve this, he has a wife and 4 children that will not be able to spend the holidays with him because of Dwek- so all of you people that are sticking up for Dwek, go somewhere else, we don’t want to hear about it here!!
