Thessaloniki traffic police chief Giorgos Thanoglou says “millions” of the amphibians covered the tarmac Wednesday near the town of Langadas, some 12 miles east of Thessaloniki.
“There was a carpet of frogs,” he said.

Running over all those frogs created a slimy mess on the highway, kind of like an oil slick, causing cars tires to lose traction with the road, kind of like a person stepping on banana peels.
