Texas - George W. Bush Posts First Facebook Video |
|
In a Short Clip Posted on Facebook, Former President Greets His Supporters and Explains What He’s Been Doing Since Leaving the White HouseTexas - Adding a little more flair to his Facebook page
, which debuted last week, former President George W. Bush updated his wall yesterday with a short video thanking the more than 140,000 people who have already “liked” his page and providing viewers with an update on what he has been doing since leaving office.
“I am pleased to report that Laura and I are happy, healthy and home here in the great state of Texas,” says Mr. Bush. “Or as I call it, the promised land.”
He adds: “Serving as president was the honor of a lifetime, and I will always be grateful for the opportunity to represent the nation I love. But retirement isn’t so bad either.”
After making a quick plug about his new book “Decision Points,” scheduled to be released November 9th, Mr. Bush goes on to mention his efforts with former President Bill Clinton to raise money for relief efforts in Haiti. Facebook members, according to his page, have already donated over $16,000 to the fund; in the video, he asks viewers to continue with their support.
The bulk of the video is spent introducing the George W. Bush Presidential Center, which will feature Mr. Bush’s presidential archives, as well as the George W. Bush Institute.
While the Presidential Center won’t be completed until 2013, the institute, which Mr. Bush says will be “promoting practical initiatives in education reform, global health, economic growth and human freedom,” as well as women’s rights in the Middle East, is currently up and running.
“As I tell people I may be done with politics,” says Mr. Bush, “but I am not done with policy.”

Bush was almost as bad as Obama. He was a false friend of the Israelis and was behind the creation of Hamas.
I knew his war on terror was baloney when he changed the rules for Israel and forced them to negotiate with the terrorists.
Bush's gross failures led directly to the victory of the current administration. Great that he is gone and I hope no Bush ever comes back.

What people don't get is that making himself look stupid was a strategy, obama who is so smart is destined to fail, first because the expectation was and is so high, that ultimatly it can't be met, and he keeps on feeding it.

You must be PMO. Shame on you.
Bush was a real friend to Israel. Israel has fought 2 wars under him and were given a free hand and full support. Those wars were meant to bring down Hamas and Hizbullah. He always welcomed the leaders of Israel and gave them the proper respect. He himself fought the war in Iraq for the sake of Israel.
The only one to blame for Hamas's success in Gaza is Sharon.

On Sept. 14, 2001, Bush visited the carnage at the World Trade Center site. The Secret Service was not happy that he was going, as the site was not safe. There was a retired firefighter helping out, and when he saw Bush, he started to leave. Bush invited him to stay, and placed his arm around him; then, he grabbed a megaphone. Some of the construction workers shouted: "George, we can't hear you". Bush then stated "I can hear you, the whole world hears you, and the people who knocked these buildings down, will hear all of us soon". At that point, there was tremendous applause from the construction workers. A few minutes later, Bush started speaking to the workers. All of them, were large, burly individuals. Some of them told Bush exactly what he should do to the terrorists. Bush then stated "I agree with you". One of the workers gave Bush a large bearhug. The Secret Service was not too pleased at that. One of them said to the Mayor "Guiliani, if anything happens to the President, you're through"! The retired firefighter was not invited back to the site, to help. However, Bush invited him to the White House several months later.

I am not PMO and I strongly disagree with him on many things.
However, Bush was an unmitigated disaster in many ways and he was a very false friend of Israel. He and Condi pushed Israel into the elections that led to the ascendancy of Hamas.
He weakened America and coddled the Islamic enemy at the direction of Grover Norquist. He was much to close to Saudi Arabia and greatly weakened our protections against Muslim infiltration of the military and allowing dangerous Muslims to come to America.
He was a disaster in his immigration policy and his disavowal of Conervative principles and the Conservative base greatly weakened the Republican party.
Overall, he was just slightly behind the current administration in weakness, bad policy and misleadership of the country.

Just ask Muslims and they'll tell you how close he was to them, you fool. They hated him and tried to kill him. On the contrary ask Israeli's and they'll tell you that Bush was their best friend. Obama is popular in the Muslim world, Bush was not.
He brought down Saddam and Arafat. He supported free elections where Hamas won as a result, that's where Israel was saved from following through with the peace process because of it being a terrorist government and America was forced to stop giving direct aid until the split. It's important to know what we are up to and free elections was the only way. You have a selective memory. His deeds outdid his misdeeds a thousand to one. How can you even dare to compare him to Obama.
On the contrary I would agree that Clinton was a false friend and has done more harm to Israel than any other president including Carter.

Oh President Bush.... I miss you so much! We have this Obama Hussein guy in office and he is such a disaster! With you in office we couldn't balance a budget for 8 straight years and you added 6 trillion dollars to the national debt, but you always reminded us that you were a "fiscal conservative" so that made me feel real good. You entrenched us in two foreign occupations with no end in sight now having cost the country by way of Chinese debt a trillion dollars plus, but with you in office we could always be assured that the "mission was accomplished". Those good old days brought us your Prescription Drug Benefit Program which the CBO now estimates will end up costing over a trillion dollars but none of your Republican flunkies ever screamed socialism so we all knew it was good. I miss your inarticulate bumbling of the English language, your "road map for peace," with Condi as go-between lecturing us Jews about compromise, your failed attempt at immigration reform with your own party rebuffing you, and of course your dog Barney. Oh how I miss Barney; now all we've got is that lousy Bo.

President Bush was a good and ethical man (at least as far as politicians go).
I'd take a man with a conscience and a commitment to ethics and who believes in the words "right and wrong" as well as "good and evil," over a man who may be more articulate, but is in every way the exact opposite.
Obama: no ethics, not humble to a Higher Power, doesn't believe in words such as "good and evil". He is evil.

You shouldn't call someone a fool when you provide such a mindless and incorrect response.
Bush whitewashed Islam in general and spent a tremendous amount of time covering for the Saudis and wining and dining them. He tried to give port control to Dubai. He also loosened controls on Arab students coming to America. They in no way hated him. I don't know what you're smoking but I don't remember any attempt on Bush's life.
He directly led to the power of Hamas and gave them plenty of money under the table. He also supported that false moderate Fatah group.
He was for illegal amnesty, he provided Geneve accord rights to terrorists, he did not support the soldiers of the Pendleton 8 or the Haditha phony massacre. He railroaded Ramos and Compean. I could go on and on.
He was a disastrous failure and directly led to what we have today.

It's a known fact that Bush is hated in the Arab world and there is no need to cite any proof. There is also no need to cite proof that Bush is the most popular president in Israel. Your argument that he gave money to Hamas, however, doesn't make any sense and does need concrete proof.

President Bush you were RIGHT on the war in Iraq. back in 2006 when we faced the darkest days when some suggested to bring our troops home or to sit down with Iran, despite all this, you decided not to take any of that advice and rather send 30,000 more troops to reduce the violence so we can put the burden on the Iraqi forces and complete the job and then bring our troops home with honor and victory not in defeat.
