New York - Information Highway Comes To Route 17: Vos Iz Neias Joins Road Inform For Its Third Season |
|
New York - What began five years ago as a group of friends updating each other on traffic conditions to and from the Catskill mountains during the busy summer season has now evolved into Road Inform, a vast network with a membership of over 25,000 members members accessing their online traffic updates. Road Inform was created in 2005 to keep travelers heading to the mountains aware of road conditions and within one year had evolved into a revolutionary sophisticated service, providing current traffic updates. As in past years, Vos Iz Neias has teamed up again this year exclusively with Road Inform to keep VIN readers up to date on the latest road conditions.
Using today’s technology to pinpoint trouble spots on the road with information obtained from commuters, media outlets and traffic cameras, among other sources, Road Inform provides the Jewish community with the information needed to facilitate a smooth and hopefully trouble free trip up to the Catskills. Not only does Road Inform keep the public aware of traffic conditions, it also offers alternate routes to and from the Catskills. Travelers can obtain the latest information either by phone, text message, Road Inform’s mobile site or Twitter. As of last year, Road Inform had over 6,000 members signed up to receive text messages alerts in case of traffic tie ups.
“Minimizing traffic delays for commuters is our primal goal,” said Yechiel Reinhold, Executive Producer at Road Inform, in an exclusive interview with VIN News. New for this summer is m.roadinform.com
, Road Inform’s mobile site, which can be easily accessed by a mobile browser. As always Road Inform’s traffic alerts are posted on vosizneias.com on the home page yellow bar.

Best thing that ever happened. I just signed up today and I received all the important alerts and advice on alternate routes.Today, really was very timely to receive the updated information. Because today, most of the families that are going up to the mountains for the summer, departed today. Also, there was construction on the NY state Thruway. And a chartered bus, carrying children to camp caught on fire. And accidents on other roads.

“ Avoid the traffic, stay home and learn a yiddeshe vert...driving back and forth each week to the mountains in gridlocked traffic is the biggest single source of bitul torah in yiddeshkeit today ”
and what about my babies, what about my wife who toils so hard to raise our yiddishe neshamelech for the yiddish derech so she can have some well deserved rest to gather kochos for the next 'zman' etc etc did your narrow mind take any of this in consideration ...'umechabdoh yoser migifo'. munaf shech if your talking about those who are in chinuch ,they stay in country all summer so your ptsetel is not shayec,h and if your talking about laymen, dont worry they anyway dont learn in those 9 hours( per week) and if they really want to learn, they have a multitude of torah tapes, cd's.so before you post and i have to waste my precious time (i'm busy reading other (torah) sites to catch guys like you) use your brains
