Its a crime, the school managers should be prosecuted for this, let me see them driving their cars for 2 minutes without air condition..

Don't forget to check on your elderly neighbors (of any denomination). If they don't have a.c. and you do, invite them into your home. Make sure your elderly relatives are staying hydrated.

It is unconscionable that this is still the case. Fifteen years ago, when I picked up my little one from the bus he'd come out all shvitzed up and he was only on the bus for approximately half an hour. I would have hoped they bought new buses with air conditioning since then. I'm sorry for you, school bus driver, I wish there was some way to help.

I can't imagine in this day an age why school buses would be manufactured without A/C!!! I remember shvitzing on the bus as a kid but that was 30+ years ago!!

The real reson why they don't manufacture the yellow busses with air condition is because, the public schools and even the goishe private schools are not operating in the summer days, but for our busses who do operate in the summer (like in monsey which the kids don't have any vacations) should have air condition...

Isn't the school year over? Rather than air conditioning the busses and the schools, it seems like they may opt to end the school year earlier.

Those of us who lived in the old tenement houses, slept on the roof . Some even slept in the park near the river . In shul , well , we kept saying - Mashiv haruach umorid hageshem all summer long ..

We shvitzed like horses. More people died of heat stroke. We fought our siblings to be the one to stand right in front of the fan to get even a little relief. And, I don't care what anybody says about global warming, we definitely have more 90+ days and longer summer weather than we used to.

How did the American Indians (Native Americans) survive very frigid winters and very hot summers, without central heating and central air-conditioning? They managed, and did not complain!
