Washington - The White House is contradicting the NASA administrator’s claim that President Barack Obama assigned him to reach out to Muslims on science matters.

NASA Administrator Charles Bolden recently told Al-Jazeera network that one of the charges Obama gave him was “to reach out to the Muslim world and engage much more with dominantly Muslim nations to help them feel good about their historic contribution to science and engineering.”

Some conservative activists criticized the remarks.

White House press secretary Robert Gibbs said Monday that such activities are not among Bolden’s assigned tasks. He said administration officials have spoken with NASA about the matter.

What's so difficult to understand? Administrater wanted to ridicule Obama, and make a stop to it.
Now let Obama try to fire him.

Hmmm.... I do find it interesting that when Reagan saw the space program as a bridge to reach our enemy of that day (Russia), it was applauded by both liberals and conservatives alike. When the idea is brought up about our enemy of today (whether Obama really said it or not is another story), it is ridiculed.

It just goes to show that for so many, the facts are not even in important anymore. It is now all about doing anything to further their hatred of Obama and raise the advertising revenues of the infotainers on the radio and cable news shows. How pathetic.

PMO, we were wondering where you were after all not enough people on this blog defend Obama.

There is no comparison about what Reagan had in mind for the space program (DEFENSE!) and what Obama wants to do (KISS UP TO THE YISHMAELIM FOR NO GOOD REASON!).

Please go back into that deep socialist progressive liberal hole of yours and continue the hibernation.

Reagan never said anything of the sort. NASA's mission is supposed to be to explore other worlds, not the Moslem world! But not according to Obama. And anyone who believes Gibbs's denial needs his head examined; why would Bolden make something like that up?

The Arabs never contributed anything to science. Some of the people they occupied managed to do some science, despite the Arabs' diligently burning any book they laid their hands on that wasn't Moslem.

Actually.... I don't want Obama as President. I'm a Conservative. I believe his economic agenda is disastrous for this country.

Just because I don't believe in ridiculous, tabloid sound-bytes of the "infotainment" community, doesn't mean that I am "pro-Obama".... it means I am educated enough to know when something is factually true, and when it is made up purely to whip-up the ignorant masses in order to get ratings.

I was starting to miss you too. I actually thought I was going to have to start listening to Rush Limbaugh or Glen Beck to find out what the ignorant folks who are fooled into believe the "infotainment" nonsense as opposed to REAL Conservative principles and facts. Now that you're here, I won't need to waste my time. I can get all the lies and slander from you.

As for the comparison to Reagan, it certainly is valid. Reagan, being the great leader that he was (and the last of the true Conservatives in higher office), understood that science and discovery opened an avenue for peace that nothing else could. You insult his intelligence and his political prowess on the international stage by saying otherwise. Reagan had it right then, and his principles should be followed to this day. It is too bad that genuine Conservatism has been abandoned for the ignorant rantings of TV and radio characters. I'm sorry to say, but there is more to it then just calling someone a socialist, or a nazi, or ending every sentence with a wink and "you betcha!".

The people who call themselves "conservatives" these days are an embarrassment to everything W.F.Buckley, Nixon and Reagan fought for!

Russians were gentlemen? What sort of revisionist, European, liberal text book are you reading! For decades there was imminent fear of a Russian nuclear attack on US soil. For decades there were Russian spies in our government and in our military industry. If not for "Gorby" and Reagan eventually coming together, we would have been to war with the Russians LONG before we'd ever even heard of Osama Bin Laden.

As for "hating" the USA, that is about the dumbest thing I've ever heard. Nobody with better than an 8th grade education thinks Obama "hates" the USA. He is most definitely an ultra-liberal. He is most definitely contributing to the economic collapse of our country (but no worse than Bush was). He is most definitely pushing an agenda that I am firmly against. However, I don't believe for one second that he "hates" the USA. He just has a flawed philosophy.

Isn't it interesting how people have always said the same thing about Ted Kennedy, but in the end we find out that he and Ronald Reagan had the utmost respect for each other and were close friends.

Back then, it was OK to respect a liberal and still vehemently and vocally disagree with him on FACT. I still do.
