Police say 44-year-old Edward Pemberton was arrested at 9:15 a.m. in connection with two bank robberies.
Pemberton, who also went by the alias John Lowe, is believed to be the so called “bouquet bandit.”
He performed odd jobs for florists in Chelsea, and detectives canvassing the Flower District were able to track him to his home in Brooklyn.
Police received numerous tips from members of the public who saw his picture in the media.
Additionally, one of the tellers identified Pemberton from a photo array, according to police.
Pemberton has 14 prior arrests, the most recent for fare beating on July 15. He was released from jail on that charge on Monday.
He also has prior arrests for criminal possession of a controlled substance and robbery.
something about this story has a nice smell to it
Just as I predicted yesterday that they should start with the flower stands. To the person that questioned my idea, what do you have to say now?
He performed odd jobs for florists in Chelsea, and detectives canvassing the Flower District were able to track him to his home in Brooklyn.
What a dope.
Which prison can I send him a Bouquet of flowers?
What’s next a butcher coming in with a leg of lamb to rob a bank.
This is his 14th arrest – what a justice system we have
he will still sue for being harrassed by being arrested so often
So the system will get him in and out of prison again. Whats the point?
So if you beat up people.. Rob Banks.. or steal and you get arrested 14 times but get released the same day.. But if you you do financial fraud you get 27 years in prison…what a great justice system
At least he wasn’t wearing his name tag. Poor guy.
