It says the heat index, which factors in the humidity, could reach 100 on Thursday.

The advisory is in effect until 8 p.m.

The health department and emergency management office say cooling centers will be open as the heat index climbs.

The city says air conditioned public buildings will be open to visitors during business hours.

The weather service says temperatures could be above average again this month.

The city says more than 228,000 people have visited cooling centers this summer since the first heat wave in June.

How about doing the decent thing and wait for your kids with a cold drink or ices for the school bus driver. I do it everyday – It doesnt cost much but it can definitely make their job alot more pleasant!
