This is happening all over the world, and yet I keep meeting fellow religious Jews who believe that global warming is a myth or that it’s apikorsis.
The fact remains that the weather patterns are changing so drastically that we have algal blooms the size of Germany in the north baltic, there was a block of ice 4 times larger than Manhattan that broke off of the Petermann glacier in Greenland, we have flooding in Pakistan, China, North Korea, Germany, Poland, the Czech Republic, the mid-west of America, and all over the world in places that were stable since recorded history.
The islands of Lohashara and Purbasha near Bangladesh have become completely submerged, Whale-Skate island off the coast of Hawaii is underwater, and the mean sea level has risen dramatically over the past 50 years.
The price of wheat has increased 60% in the past 2 months alone because Russia, who was one of the biggest exporters of wheat in the world, was forced to ban its export after 20% of their crops had been destroyed by drought and fires.
This situation could create a catastrophe worse than anyone can imagine!
Food shortages and 10’s of millions of people displaced by the seas would be unimaginable.

    #2 ,
The fact that it is caused by humans doesn’t negate the idea within hashkafah that it’s the ‘ratzon Hashem’…..
We say: “Leiv malachim b’yad Hashem”, do you really think that it’s only the leaders of countries and not the leaders of corporations?

It is absolutely undeniable that there is a correlation between the rise in greenhouse gasses and global climate change, and it is undeniable that humans are at least partially, if not wholly, responsible for it.

We reached a period in our intellectual development where we should have come to the conclusion that we should all work for the benefit of the world and all mankind, and not just for ourselves or our own race or nation.
This is the result of a lack of awareness of our place in creation, a lack of desire to care about others, and a lack of understanding that greed is an extension of an immature desire to show off, which is in turn a lack of self assuredness.
