The incident happened in the Midwood section of Brooklyn on East 17th Street, near Avenue K, just before 1:45 a.m. Tuesday.
He was shot in the left shoulder, and the bullet traveled into his midsection.
He was rushed by the Hatzolah volunteer emergency medical service to Kings County Hospital. He was listed in critical condition, but was expected to survive.
Police were looking for a green or gray Mazda CX9 that fled the scene.
No arrests were immediately made and police did not have a motive, other than the shooting appeared to be a dispute on the street.
Local residents who gathered following the shooting identified the man as a black Orthodox Jew who is well-known in the area.
Second amendment right to bear arms is not a bad idea. Only NYS has issues with its normal citizens carrying weapons.

So you know more than the news does! How?
Do you have personal knowledge, or is this just Loshon Hora?
They dont manke Mazda CX9 in green
What are they all doing on the street at 1:45 AM? Don’t they have to go to work?
reply to #8 :
Why is that any of your business? Were you ever on the street at 1:45 am? Coming home from a wedding, or from babysitting, or having a night job, or from the airport? Or for a million other reasons which are, again, not your business?
And what difference would it make?
And, finally, no, not everyone has to go to work. Not everyone has work to go to.
This is the second Shotting of its kind in this area. As a Candidate For State Senate in this area where the shooting took place, I will demand more nighttime patrol, and more funds to shomarim, and Hatzalah, to better protect the community. The said thing is that Police commissioner Kelly spoke in Borough Park yesterday about Community Safety and look what happens a few hours later. Enough is enough and as State Senator I will get our Community the protection it needs.

Your grammar is really, REALLY atrocious, and so is your spelling (“shotting”? “the said thing”?).
I would be embarrassed to have someone so obviously uneducated representing me, I would vote against you without even bothering to learn where you stand on the issues.
And, by the way, learn to spell the names of the organizations you claim to support, and then maybe someone might believe you know anything about them.
Replay to # 11 So I made a mistake. No one is perfect. I am shocked, that you would vote for someone else based only on that. I am not the best writer or speller out there. However I do Stand for what I believe in and fight for it. I will do the same for our community.
