Cleveland Hopkins Airport officials told NewsChannel5 that airport EMS crews were called to an incoming Delta flight at 11:30 a.m. for a passenger who felt sick. Upon arrival, they learned that the passenger was President Jimmy Carter. Airport EMS crews did an initial checkup of him on scene to see if he was OK, and he was then transported to MetroHealth Medical Center, where he is currently.

President Carter’s team issued this statement Tuesday afternoon:

“While on a flight to Cleveland, former U.S. President Jimmy Carter developed an upset stomach, and, upon arrival, was taken to Metro Health Hospital for observation. He is resting comfortably and is expected to resume his book tour this week. “

Crews at MetroHealth Medical Center said an ambulance arrived with Secret Service crews and an Ohio State Highway Patrol cruiser following it. People in the emergency room at the hospital told our crew they were kicked out because they were told “President Carter is coming.”

President Carter, 85, was expected at Joseph-Beth Booksellers in Legacy Village at noon to sign his new book, titled “White House Diary,” but has not shown up yet.

Mr. Carter, a Democrat, was the 39th president of the United States, serving from 1977 to 1981.

I never had anyone even notice when I had an upset stomach. Seems like someone likes attention here

I too develop an upset stomach everytime he speaks or write anything. The only president worst than this peanut brain is the anointed one

#1 kollelfaker. You are indeed a faker. You fake at being a human being. For a supposedly religious man to wish ill health on anyone is a shandah – and much worse. But you will continue to attend shul, accept aliyot and other honors and let the world think that you are a wondeful person. Faker, faker, faker. You are no better than lowest insect. You may disagree with Carter’s politics, have detested the way his administration ran, etc, but you still have no right to wish him harm. But of course, you have no conscience.

#6 : Did you read any of his books? Are you aware of what he did to the Shah of Iran (a true friend of ours)? Do you know what his views are on Jews, Judaism and Israel?

If, say in 1927, a German Jew, having read Mein Kampf, wished harm upon its author, would you bemoan the fact that he accepts aliyot in shul?

I can disagree with someone more liberal (or more conservative) than myself, and still respect their rights to their opinions. I cannot respect someone who uses his former office as a bully pulpit against my people, our homeland, and our religion..

Of course, I think that #1 is acting immaturely. While I despise this former President, so childish an expression of ill will, does us no good.

Couldn’t have happened to a nicer guy. It’s one thing to have an opinion. It’s another thing to support Israel’s enemies in words, if not deeds.
