Israel – Two Arab children from the Silwan neighborhood of Jerusalem were injured after they were hit by a car driven by Elad director David Be’eri. Be’eri, head of a group that advocates for Jewish families to live in the predominantly Arab neighborhood, claimed that the youths were throwing rocks at his car and he hit them accidentally in an attempt to flee from the area.

“His car was surrounded with tens of people with rocks,” Elad spokesman Udi Ragones told the Jerusalem Post. “When they started throwing them, and he hit them when he tried to flee from the area. It seems that they were lying in wait and the ambush was planned with rocks, it may have even been a lynch situation. He felt his life was in danger.”
An Al-Jazeera video clip and AFP photos from the incident show just four youths with rocks surrounding Be’eri’s car, and then two youths getting hit. One was lightly injured, and one was in moderate condition. Both were evacuated to Moqassed Hospital in the area.
Be’eri lives in the area and was on his way home with his son at the time of the incident, Ragones said. Be’eri was taken by the police for an investigation, and later released on bail. An investigation is ongoing, lead by an examiner with the police’s traffic division. Police are using photos from the incident in their investigation.
Ragones said the incident took place less than 100 meters from where a private Israeli guard for the Jewish residents shot and killed Samr Sirkhan, an Arab resident who was throwing stones, about three weeks ago. The shooting prompted widespread riots in east Jerusalem, which injured ten people. Over 50 Arab residents arrested in the week that followed for violent incidents.
Elad, a Hebrew acronym which means ‘To the City of David,’ is a right-wing group that has operated in Silwan since 1991. They support 62 Jewish families living in the area, and are not connected to the controversial Beit Yontaton building, home to an additional eight Jewish families. Elad also runs the City of David archeological park, which hosts more than 400,000 visitors per year.
Be’eri, 57, established the City of David foundation in 1986 to explore ruins from the Second Temple period. Since then, the archeological dig has angered Silwan’s Arab residents, who accuse the organization of making a land grab.
a picture is worth a thousand words – now this one is not staged like the ones the arabs produce.
What a picture ouch! Rocks are very dangerous and if they shatter a car window can cause the glass to explode with force which can severely injure or even kill a passenger. He did what he had to do for his kid’s sake.
I would like to see the a few frames before what we see… and why was that child fighting being put into the car, is there audio with translation?
that had to feel good
HE did the right thing, why should he let them stone him to death?
It is amazing how all the video & photographers were there during the stoning. Was this staged?
Why don’t the police use these films to identify the arab troublemakers and lock there sorry a**es up for a year or two? A couple of years ago in Florida, 2 kids were convicted of throwing rocks at motorists from an overpass. They were sentenced to FIFTEEN YEARS EACH for the crime. Haven’t heard of any more rock throwing since then. But with our beloved Dorit in the High Court of Injustice in Jerusalem, you just know that it will be the Jew who gets 15 years! Ha-Shem Yerachem……
I’m almost willing to guarantee that within the next week or so we will see some terrible retaliation for this incident and the video earlier this week of an IDF solider harassing a blindfolded palestinian women prisoner. Some Israelis feel these actions are justified; they have no idea of the consequences of their actions.
Clear case of self defense. His life was in severe jeaopardy among a mob of angry irrational arabs looking for blood. I hope those youths do not survive, they will only grow up to be terroirts / suicide bombers
they dont seem to care about the kid either
How screwed up could people be? To still think of blame the poor guy for mistakenly knocking this youngster down? Are they really allowed to throw stones at any car that passes, and if the driver tries to run he’s at fault? I really am besides myself. We live in a crazy world.
#6 ,
They all are, the media gets paid for these images of “arab freedom fighters” etc.. they are all cozy with the arabs and the arab kids do this for the camera… ive seen it first hand many times.
He was arrested.. really? does not seem like he ran them over on purpose honestly.. the kid was IN THE STREET
I personally would have gotten out and cracked the kid’s skull with my expandable baton.
Those Subarus are some damn good cars!
I think we will all be “preaching to the choir” here. A bunch of rock hurling thugs attack you and you get arrested? Sickening no matter what the nationality, race, religion etc. The article has the chutzpah to call these juvenile delinquent animals “children”.
Something does not look right.
View the video from 0:07-0:10 and you will see something strange.
How is it possible for the kid to flip on the vehicle before it touched him. It does not appear that the vehicle struck him, but that he flipped himself onto it.
I reqinded it approximately 15 times, all with the same conclusion.
ONLY 4 “youth” throwing stones???
did you watch the whole video, or only the first 5 seconds? it seems to me to be more like 15-20 people surrounding the car from all sides…
It was obviously staged. You can easily see that the photographers had their expensive cameras out, focused and ready to shoot as the car was driving through. It’s not as if someone took out their cell phone camera and happened to catch it. This was staged and poorly done so.
Someone just happened to be there with a camera? And that looks like a very clear shot of an allegedly moving vehicle. If the photographer was that closing to a vehicle that was allegedly mowing down Palestinians, why was (s)he standing so still?
My guess is that its fake. Another production of the PPD (Palestinian Propaganda Department). You can do anything with Photoshop these days. Photos are not trustworthy anymore.
How convenient for the arab newpapers to be there??
ROCK ON
When G-d commanded Saul to destory the amalekites, I never understood why He included women, children, etc. Navi Samuel even reprimanded Saul for leaving the king alive to hold as ransom and for keeping alive some of the good animals.
But now it is starting to get a little clearer. These “children” are animals, they should all be tried as adults.
Going 60 in a 30, accidental killing = tried as adult
Throwing large jagged rocks at jews = not tried at all, with a question as to whether the VICTIM should be tried.
anyone notice as the arab adults FIRST made sure to throw more rocks at the car BEFORE seeking to help the “children”
Priorities are priorities
Butterfly: As I was saying.
wow,
At least 6 expensive camera’s happened to be there.
The driver was swerving to avoid behing hit.
The driver had a car behind him so he couldn’t stop.
What a smashed rear window, proves how dangerous those rocks are.
Why didnt they call for an ambulance as would be proper, instead of roughly lifting up a heavily resisting patient. They could have paralized him!
why were all these adults allowing these kids to run in the streets and ambush with rocks, cars coming around a curve?
It’s obvious that they were all set up there with a bunch of cameras and told the kids to throw rocks at the first Israeli car that goes by, just waiting for something to happen so they can then only show some photos/edited video of just the car hitting a kid and scream about Israeli aggression.
I am proud to say that I drive a Subaru, too, and with their low center of gravity, boxster engine, and all-wheel-drive they are perfect for driving on ice, through snow, and over vicious punks.
and you would have stoped and asked please stop be a nice boy
This picture looks more like the car drove in to Safri Zoo and the monkeys are jumping on it..
I really hope the car wasn’t scratched.
To me it looks like a. the kid jumped onto the car and b. the car did stop to check he was okay before driving off.
(the kid seems to be moving all his limbs fine when he’s on the ground, he sat up, leaned on one arm, moved the other in a normal manner, of course he resisted being shoved in the car – there was nothing wrong with him!! Maybe next time he won’t get mixed up with that mob…..
This is an excellent prompt for visual analysis.
Your assignment:
1) Count the number of photographers
2) Count the number of Arab assailants (not observers but assailants)
3) Regarding the two savages who were struck by the car, were they pedestrians reading Islamic religious poetry as they walked
-or-
were they holding rocks as they charged the front of the car as it approached.
4) What is the likelihood that the young savage, who was flipped up in the air, realized that his strategy [of throwing a fist-sized rock at point-blank range into the windshield of an oncoming car directly in front of the driver] might hurt someone?
5) Did the savages throw the rocks at the car because it hit the boy or were they committed to attacking the car even before it appeared?
6) When was the back window shattered?
7) Why didn’t the adult “journalists” attempt to prevent this act of unprovoked juvenile delinquency?
ans: 6 appear and one more is filming
ans: at least 15
ans: they were holding rocks
ans: very likely
ans: in the 1-2 seconds after the car stopped.
ans: they had a prior commitment to attack the car – note rocks “at the ready”
ans: their understanding of journalistic ethics
8) What is the likelihood that the photographers or their employers paid the young savages to pull this off?
9) Under Sharia law, how is a non-believer allowed to respond if his car is being attacked by over a dozen rock throwing believers and he legitimately believes that his life and limb are in danger?
ans: very likely
ans: I do not know.
Dumb kids deserved it. I like how Pallywood “journalists” were ready with a dozen cameras. The adults should all be locked up for encouraging these stupid kids to attack a car with stones on a road.
Why can’t EDAD supply them with better protected cars? Bars on the windows to prevent injury from shattered glass for starters. I wonder if there is any way to release tear gas, or deafening noise from vehicles to effectively deal with these sorts of situations.
i’d like to do that to #1 .
First clue this was staged: The photographers are there waiting for something to happen. Second clue: When he hits the ground they keep their attention on the car (they all knew the kid wasn’t hurt but the producer in the background had to que everyone to huddle around him) as though he had been injured by the car. Third clue: They had to literally *push* the “hurt” kid into the car to go for medical help. He didn’t totally understand the plan and was fine , not going anywhere.
Also commenter #15 is correct. That little runt went flying TOWARDS the car as it was traveling to build up speed for this trick. He planned to end up on top of the car – he just thought he would stay on it.
And then the papers even go along with it “Israeli settler RUNS DOWN a masked youth”. That kid was always on offensive because he waited until the last possible second to throw his rock and as he did so, he jumped into the air and the car gave him a boost and scooped him up as he was already airborne. As part of his stunt he had to reached out to grab onto the hood or wipers in order to twist his body around to be bumped back off.
Re: #3 JCohen the kid was fighting going into the car because he didn’t understand the plan or didn’t know that would be an important scene. They hadn’t rehearsed that part!
The car hitting the kid looked a lot worse than it actually was and it was totally provoked!
