Lebanon - Hatemonger Mahmoud Ahmadinejad doesn’t just believe the United States government was behind the 9/11 attacks—he’s out to prove it.
The sharp-tongued Islamic Republic leader claims to have formed an “independent and neutral team” to investigate the deadly attacks, which killed more than 3,000 people and scarred a nation.
The team will “examine the facts and discover the truth of the Sept. 11 events [which] is the demand of all the peoples of the region and the world,” Ahmadinejad said during a controversial visit to Lebanon, London’s Daily Telegraph reported.
Ahmadinejad has regularly made statements doubting the official explanation of 9/11, placing the blame on the attacks on Western governments.
This is his first state visit to the Lebanon, and the bombastic leader plans to visit the border with Israel on Thursday. That visit has drawn scorn from Israeli leaders, one of whom suggested the Iranian president could be assassinated.
“If a situation arises in which Ahmadinejad is in the cross-hairs of the [Israel Defense Forces], he should be killed,” Israeli Knesset member Arieh Eldad said, according to CNN.
Ahmadinejad is expected to visit several locations associated with Hezbollah, a Lebanese-Shiite group with close ties Iran. He has already spoken out in favor of the group, which has fought with Israel for years.
“We fully support the resistance of the Lebanese people against the Zionist regime,” he said, the Telegraph reported.

This is the same "independent" team that he set up to verify whether it was actually the jews who were responsible for the holocaust. One of his proofs are the actions of the jews before 1939 that they tried to leave the European countries because they knew what they were going to do. Just like the theory that no jews went to work in Manhattan on 9-11 (Thats assuming of course that there was a holocaust.)

Well, I'm not sure that he's too far from the truth on this one...
I don't think it was the US gov't that perpetrated the attacks, but I do know that we don't know all of the facts.

Ahmadinejad basically likes kovod. He qvells recognition, which he readily gets from Larry King, and the Neturei Karta. If one looks at the U-tube video of the Neturei Karta meeting withg Ahmadinejad in NYC in 2007, one will observe, that not only did that group hug the Iranian President, but they kissed him several times! Incidentally, while Ahmadinejad is at it, why should he only stop with investigating the 9/11/01 attacks? He should also be persuaded to see if the Imperial Japanese Navy, actually attacked Pearl Harbor on 12/7/41. Perhaps, he will arrive at the scholarly conclusion that it was really American planes, which destroyed our naval fleet.

I don't think anyone familiar with the facts, and is not motivated by political ideology, can look at the facts and conclude anything but that in broad outline we understand exactly what happened. Certainly in terms of who the perpetrators were and who supported them.
Of course there are details that are not clear (there always are), but the suggestion that there is some need to find out some hidden "truth" is just willful blindness.

The only thing that still bothers me about the 9/11/01 attacks (besides the thousands of people who were killed and injured), is the way the U.S. Congress let the commercial airline companies off the hook. Basically, the airlines were absolved of all liability and culpability. Not one lawsuit filed against the airlines for their culpable negligence ever went to trial, since all of the plaintiffs were paid off. Over 40 years before the 9/11/01 attacks, President John F. Kennedy warned commercial airline pilots to keep the cockpit doors locked, following hijackings to Cuba. The airline industry had over 40 years to install reinforced steel cockpit doors; however, they did not want to go the expense.
Also, if it had been El Al, not one of those hijackers would have been permitted to have boarded in the first place.
