New York – Rent Is 2 Damn High Party Ones Blamed Williamsburg Jews For High Rent in NY

Rent Is Too Damn High candidate Jimmy McMillanNew York – In what may be the only debate in the New York gubernatorial race, issues and politics took backseat to a black-gloved, mustached man running on a simple platform: “The rent is too damn high!” and That’s Jimmy McMillan, the candidate for the Rent Is 2 Damn High Party.

McMillan a Vietnam vet and karate teacher made his campaign platform loud and clear by shouting “The rent is too damn high!” nine times during the debate.

According to Gawker in 2005 McMillan was blaming high rent on the Jewish People:

“There are over (25) Twenty Five Thousand Newly Rented Apartments, Available, Now Renting in the Williamsberg Section of Brooklyn, NY. as is all throughout the (5) Five Boro’s. But… they are only being Rented to the Jewish People.”

And, in case you are wondering why Jimmy was wearing gloves:

“Don’t forget I was in Vietnam for two and half years and I have three Bronze Stars, but the chemicals of Agent Orange—dioxin and a lot of other chemicals mixed up—I would get sick. When I get home tonight, I know I’m not going to be able to breathe if I take them off. It could be psychological, I don’t know, but I just put em on and wear them anyway.”

Here is Jimmy’s web site: http://rentistoodamnhigh.org/

Can I get an amen, brother?? This guy totally missed his calling. Hysterical.

(like Jews went to their landlords and said, can I please pay you more rent?)

Now – as a foreign observer, with no ax to grind – what makes me think that Jimmy McM is dead in the water?

To GB_Jew: because your talking out of your.

Rents are high all over the city. Whether its in brooklyn, staten island or Manhattan.

For example in mahattan the rent per square foot is about a half of what its in brooklyn and there aren’t to many jews who have the rental market.

I was think of voting for this guy for the kicks of it, but not after I read about his hate.

He is single handedly the most intelligent man that has ever walked the earth!
We once stood in awe of great minds like Aristotle, Plato and Socrates, but now these names are synonymous with idiocy ever since we have been blessed with the enlightened intellect of…..Jimmy McMillan!

Pretty funny actually. On his website, he spells the word “tenant” wrong. You’d think that since his campaign revolves around one particular group of people, he’d spell the word correctly!

There was an individual named James Meredith, who was the first Black to integrate the University of Mississippi in 1962. He was hailed as a hero at the time, and later when he was wounded in 1966 (in an ambush), during a civil rights march down South. However, what has not been widely reported about Meredith was that he was in later years, a slumlord in Harlem, and was not nice to his Black tenants. My point is that Jimmy McMillan will only single Jews out, but he won’t say a word about his own meshpucha who own property in Harlem and other NYC neighborhoods, and who have conflict with their tenants. This is typical of the double standard which exists in our society today.

First you (kind of) gratuitously insult me and then you go on to publish a ‘non sequitur’. Perhaps you are unfamiliar with the expression “dead in the water”? But after that, in your final sentence you agree with what I have said!

We all know that rents are high throughout NYC, but how do you arrive at the conclusion that “the rent per square foot is about a half of what its in brooklyn and there aren’t to many jews who have the rental market”?

I may not live in the United States, but I do visit your country once every two or three weeks. I have family, friends and colleagues who live in most of the New York boroughs – and most of them rent their homes.

So just what is the thinking, or the logic, behind your message to the world?

the true issue that needs to be addressed is: property taxes.
i’m being drained because i need to pay $7,000 a year in property taxes for my condo. add to that $800 for water & sewer and sanitation tickets, if the garbadge is put   the curb a minute before 5:00, or if some child drops a candy wrapper on the sidewalk.

Dems a real powerful group dem jews. They made the price of oil also skyrocket. By the way, weren’t them jews responsible for the chile mine disaster and global warming. Why, I heard the leader in Iran is really a Mosad agent and is Jewish.

Get rid of rent control, lower the taxes and get out of the way of the developers. That ought to help.

Not to discount the horrible prejudice Meredith faced as a young man, but he grew up to be a rasha, becoming a David Duke supporter! When he was convicted of improper behavior as a slumlord, he compared it to a previous conviction for illegally registering to vote when African Americans couldn’t vote there. What a horrible sense of morality.

You forgot that Zionist Jews were also responsible for the French and Bolshevik revolutions. I learned that by reading the Hamas Charter!

Property taxes in the NY suburbs border on confiscatory. I personally know people who pay over $30,000/year for ordinary nice 4 bedroom suburban homes. Fortunately I live in NYC where property taxes are low; we pay only about $5,000/year in property taxes for a 4 bedroom single family detached home.

The real issue comes down to the stubborn insistence on many frum families to live in NYC near their rebbe. There are plenty of locations where they can establish new communities at much lower cost and create yeshivos, shuls and mikvahs with all the money they would save on housing. However, none wants to leave the “rebbe’s tisch” and for that reason, they will be forced to suffer with higher rents and smaller spaces for their children, with no fresh air, no place to play. no green space and just miserable living conditions. I don’t really respect them for making this dysfunctional choice for their mishpachas for the absurd reason of staying close to the rebbe at any cost. They deserve what they get because their problem is of their own making.

Poster # 6 (Anonymous); Mc Milan is neither the first, nor the last black opportunist who is attempting to ride to fame on the coattails of anti-Semitism. He hopes that by stirring up negative feelings about Jews he will become popular. This is part of the black culture. Actually, Harlem started out as a Jewish neighborhood. There are still some Shuls today in Harlem. The Irish, historically never let the African-Americans close to their neighborhoods. The only places they were welcomed were the Jewish areas of Manhattan, the Bronx and Brooklyn. Almost forgot. Queens. I drove by a lumber yard in South Ozone park, where you can still see the Star of David on a smoke-scarred building.

Is McMillion any more dysfunctional than Paladino??? Paladino made some antisemetic comments about Shelly Silver.

Fortunately most of the African-American community rejects these open appeals to bigotry. Al Sharpton has never been elected to anything, while African American politicians such as John Lewis, Alcee Hastings, Charles Rangel, Major Owens, Carl McCall, and a whole host of others have been some of our strongest supporters. Charles Barron is the exception. Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. was a big supporter of Israel.

Poster # 20 (Charliehall); Yes. But those on the fringe do see this (Antagonism towards the Jews) as a way to become popular. That criminal, for example, Herbert Daughtry said on the radio (And I heard him) during the Crown Heights riots “The next stop (for rioting) is Williamsburg”. And the black radio station (owned by our “Good”, as in fair weather friend Percy Sutton.) was a pure factory of racism and anti-Semitism. Besides the hosts who made snide remarks whenever a black/ white issue came up, the callers almost without exception, their Second sentence (after “Hotep, Brother”) was “The Jews” this, the Jews, that”. As far as Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. being “Close” to the Jews. He had Rabbi Dr. Abraham Joshua Heschel march alongside on most marches. As was the general Jewish community in sync with the struggle for Civil Rights.

Why are you people even discussing this issue seriously?

If anyone in NYC said they would only rent to Jews, the person applying would be able to sue for enough to retire on and buy his own big house.

It’s not as if these people don’t know about the anti-discrimination laws and how much the courts love to shove the landlord’s money at them if they find one…..
