Washington – Hungarian survivors of the Holocaust and their relatives in the US filed a lawsuit against the Republic of Hungary and the state rail companies on Thursday local time, accusing them of collaborating with the Nazis in the extermination of Jews during World War II.

The lawsuit accused the Hungarian state and its two rail companies, MAV and Rail Cargo Hungaria (legal successor of MAV Cargo), of confiscating Jewish property and transporting Jews to concentration camps in Poland and Ukraine where many hundreds of thousand perished.
“The Jewish victims of the Hungarian Holocaust seek only what is due them – compensation and restitution for the atrocities they suffered at the hands of the defendants,” the lawsuit filed in the US District Court for the District of Columbia said.
The lawsuit seeks class-action status and unspecified damages and says at least 300 survivors have been identified as possible members of the class but there could be more than 5,000.
The plaintiffs are residents of the US, Canada, Australia and Israel. Their lawyer, Chuck Fax said the claim totals several tens of millions of dollars and possibly more. He said the lawsuit was still timely because Hungary had not yet compensated the survivors and their family members, and their properties had not been returned to them.

This makes me very sad. Hungarians helped many Jews escape before the nazis arrived. The nazis with force took over the whole country of Hungary, murdered the Hungarian president after he refused to comply with hitler. The nazis ruined Hungary, the Americans bombed Hungary, the russians ruined Hungary, the romanians ruined Hungary, and now Isreal is robing Hungary. I have been thankfull to Hungarians for saving my family and there friends before the nazis came, I have been thankfull to the Hungarians when the russian Jews came and were beating on Hungarian Jews because they were fortunate not to be captured by the nazis. Those Hungarians from the Nagy family were fighting with the Hungarian Jews in the street and now we are sending our appreciation by taking theyre property in this economic hard time. I have excepted Jesus as my messiac and now I pray for the Jews who attack the people who helped us to be judged by God as the nazis are judged. Shame on you.
