Brooklyn, NY – VIN News has learned that Brian Doherty, the retired police officer challenging Jewish icon Assemblyman Dov Hikind (D-Brooklyn) for the 48th Assembly seat, has received campaign donations from Bradley R. Smith, a self-proclaimed Holocaust revisionist (http://mylifeasaholocaustrevisionist.blogspot.com/), and a supporter of Holocaust denier David Irving.

On his blog, Smith proudly boasts that he has been described by the Los Angeles Times as an “anarchist libertarian,” and as one of the most dangerous “extremists” in America by the Anti-Defamation League.
In a recent posting on October 25, 2010 (http://bradleysmithsblog.blogspot.com/2010/10/finally-chance-to-thank-dov-hikind.html), Smith encourages people to donate to Doherty’s campaign, even going as far as to provide a link to Doherty’s campaign website.
Smith wrote:
“New York State Assemblyman Dov Hikind made his appearance on this blog a bit less than a year ago when he spearheaded a successful effort to get American Express, MasterCard, Visa, and Paypal to deny their services to historian and author David Irving.
These last 28 years, Hikind has been a creature of the Zionist-oriented Brooklyn political machine such that he has not faced opposition in his re-election campaigns.
In the election 8 days from now, that changes. Brian Doherty, a retired NYC policeman, is opposing Hikind as the Republican nominee for the seat Hikind has warmed for far too long.
Donating to Doherty’s worthy campaign is easy to do via Paypal and other means denied Irving by Hikind at Doherty’s Web site http://www.dohertyforassembly.com/. I know – I just did it with some of the money I wanted to spend with our good friend David Irving.
There’s still plenty of room, but little time, for the donations of others who wish to seize this opportunity to “thank” Dov Hikind for his many “contributions” to the spread of truth regarding the Holocaust.”
Unfortunatley frum female Jews tend not to vote.

I am not surprised to hear this at all. Doherty is so desperate to be relevant – saying horrible lies about Hikind on another so-called “frum” website – that he will take money from and say anything to get elected. I hope other frum yidden, especially the Holocaust survivors in our community, hear about this so everyone will boycott Doherty. I was always voting for Hikind, but after this, there is no doubt in my mind.

Just curious: Just because some racist who is on a crusade against Assemblyman Hikind made an online donation to the latter’s opponent, does it automatically make the opponent a bad guy?
Would you brand Eric Schneiderman a racist or bigot just because, hypothetically, Luis Farrakhan or (City Councilman) Charles Barron donated money to his campaign because he dislikes Don Donovan for whatever reason?
Are you sure that Doherty is aware of the source of that money?

I’m not for or against Doherty and I don’t know what he stands for, but this article here definitely didn’t tell me anything about him, one way or the other.
How can we contribute to Hikind?
Doherty is far from the worst Republican running this year.
Hikind might be the only democrat I vote for this year.

Dov hikind did so much for our community in every aspect without sending out press releases every minute
I also liked very much simcha felder who was a big help for every yid in the community who needed him

Raboisy- Tom is election day and it is important to go out and show your support and appreciation for Dov. He has for almost three decades dedicated his life to trying to help and stand up for us. Both in his community and for jews around the world. Along with bringing in millions of dollars for so many of the amazing chesed org we have in our community. Agree with him all the time or not he has never been afraid to stand up for what he believes is right. He has an opponent this year and there may be few amongst us (often found as posers for someone on the other “Frum” website ) that want to see him go down but we who appreciate what he is all about need to show him out appreciation and come out and vote so his numbers are as high as ever.
